Sunrise Credit Services, Inc SCAMMED ME OUT OF 10,000.00 ON A DEBT DISCHARGED IN BANKRUPTCY!!! DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY! FARMINGDALE, New York

Sunrise Credit Services severely impacted the life of my family when we were down last year.  During the slump in the economy we were forced to close a family business and had no choice but to file Chapter 7 bankruptcy. 

Six months after the bankruptcy was cleared we received a call from Jennifer Davis with Sunrise Credit Services.  Jennifer informed us that one of my student loans had been turned over the her office for collections.  This was strange because they are all through Sallie Mae and were all on hardship deferrment.  Jennifer informed me that we had to come up with close to $11,000.00 or legal action would persue and we would have our wages garnished. 

Immediately I contacted Sallie Mae and they could not determine how or why this debt got into the hands of Sunrise Credit Service and worked diligently for 3 days to get it back.  They were unsuccessful.

I spoke with our attorney and he was not sure what was going on but assumed that there must have been some sort of weird loan that was turned over the the insurance agency.

I spoke to Jennifer Davis again and informed her that we just filed bankruptcy and have lost everything we had during the process and have not a penny to our name.  She immediately began suggesting borrowing money from relatives or friends and recommended trying to take out a loan.  Really!? After filing bankruptcy.  The last thing I needed. 

Jennifer Davis informed me that Sunrise Credit Service would settle for $8200.00.  We were able to scrape it together and paid with the idea that this is the last monkey to have off our back.

Get this...the next day guess who calls?  Jennifer Davis!  Now she has gotten hold of another loan and wants $23000.00!  Yes!  $23,000.00!  We are now at the end of our ropes and have nothing left.  Unfortunately we made payment arrangements and were paying $350 each month toward the balance but soon noticed that they were charging us more in 'other charges' than we were paying.  I contacted Jennifer Davis and asked about the other charges and she assured me that it is not exactly how it looks.  It was just how the billing cycle statements print?! 

Now we are very concerned.  We contact our attorney and as it turns out these debts were cleared through our bankruptcy and are reported as cleared on our credit report.

It has been 18 months since our bankruptcy cleared and we work desperately to stay afloat and build our future back up for ourselves and our son.  Unfortunately we paid these people.

They are crooks!  What they are doing is illegal!  Please do not sent these people money.  We have requested validation of debt and Jennifer Davis acts like she has no idea what I am talking about.  She left the phone and when she returned was very confronational and informed me that they do not have to sent a validation of debt.  WRONG!  We have no sent a certified letter and will be having our attorney follow through.

I will not rest until they pay for what they have done to me and my family.  We likely will not be able to get our money back but this company needs to pay!  They are horrible to prey on helpless, vulnerable people who are already struggling.  If nothing else they will be judged on judgement day.
