The Gold Standard The GEM Specialist/Appraiser The Gold Standard jewelry&Gold Buyers are liars!! Don't go to them to sell your jewelry!! Oceanside , New York

 took 4.2 Karat diamond to The Gold Standard in Oceanside NY /404 Merrick Road and a young man was at the desk he checked out the diamonds with some kind of wrench type instrument and he held it very tight and just kept going around it squeezing it. Please give me the diamond back and he did but when i came in the next day (because the appraiser was not there the prior day) When the appraiser came in after waiting for an hour he accessed the diamond and had the nerve to say he would only give me 7000.00 dollars for the diamond because it looked like it had microscopic dents in the side which happened the day before when the young man damaged them with the instrument. I was dismayed at the rip off practices that "The Gold Standard jewelry and Gold Buyers" do to me and what they have done to other consumers (done research) to other consumers which includes but not limited to: 

1. Lies in which they say they give you top dollar for your diamonds and gold but they DO NOT!
2. They train there people to do unnoticeable damage to the naked eye as to have an excuse for 
their rip off and lies.
3. They only have one appraiser for all their stores 
4. There advertisements represent fraud in which prices are written represent the size and amount of GEMS that they buy but The Gold Standard does not and will not pay these prices the Jewels of my fellow New Yorkers.

I went to another place and got top dollar which equaled four times the amount of what The Gold Standard offered. Where one door closes ten more are open. Do your self a favor don't waste your time to take your precious jewels and GEM's to a company that wants to rip you off.  As, for the Gold standard 'you are not the only company that New Yorkers have to do business with there are plenty company's that will offer fair and good practices for all consumers. 
Fellow New Yorkers remember "The Gold Standard Jewelry and Gold buyers are LIARS. Consumers don't trust them!!
