Undiscovered Talent Group Associated with IPOP Robbed close to $10,000 dollars, refuses to refund amount for services not rendered Los Angeles California

In August of 2015, my wife and I brought our daughter to an audition In Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It was with the company Undiscovered Talent Group. They were searching for new talent to attend IPOP in Los Angeles in January 2016. we were told the cost of talent classes and IPOP was $9500.00 USD. Our daughter was selected and took the classes, then when the representative from IPOP confirmed us attending and paying UTG (Undiscovered Talent Group) the $9500.00 USD, she handed us a package that informed us that the $9500.00 USD did not include the cost of a parent attending and that would cost an extra $2000.000 USD for room with your child and to attend the IPOP convention. Our daughter was 11 years old at the time and I don't know of anyone who would let their 11 yr old attend alone. Let alone stay at a hotel alone. A week after we received the package, I followed as stated in the contract and sent a cancellation notice to Undiscovered Talent Group. I then contacted Brandon the owner of the company and discussed all the issues with him and also that I had run into employment issues. He informed me that he would ask the organizer of IPOP for a favor to refund the monies For the convention to me. He kept beating around the bush about it and never giving me a direct answer. I then contact the representative from IPOP thru texting as she would not return my calls. She informed me that she would not refund my money because if she had contacted me and told me they were cancelling the convention it would be unfair to me. Yet I am the one who paid them a bunch of monies. After continuing conversations with Brandin at UTG, and threatening him with going to this site and telling our story and going to the media in Canada, he threatened to sue me. He then tried to act as though he was being helpful and said he would check with his legal team and see if he could give me some sort of refund. No where near the amount I paid but a percentage. The last contact we heard from him was via text where he told my wife he was going to send a refund. It is now 6 months later and we have received nothing, nor any contact. Whilst going through this trying ordeal, we have found out that friends of ours at the same talent classes paid $500 CD for the classes vs the $4500 USD we paid. Also another family with two children were guaranteed if they paid for the one child to go Brandon would cover the cost of the second child. What kind of company is this. This company has stolen almost $10,000 USD from me and I am stuck fighting a uphill battle with no help or laws that protect me from this scam. They came to Canada and lied to us about how the entertainment industry works. People we have met that had attended IPOP informed us that our children cannot legally work in the entertainment industry in the USA unless they have worked first in Canada. None of this was told to us During the audition nor the information sessions during the classes our daughter had taken. As I had said it is almost a year since we were robbed and the battle continues, if anyone knows of someone who can help a Canadian in this fight against a Company in the USA, please let me know.
