United Air Temp Attempted to charge DOUBLE the standard cost for AC unit and install Winter Park Florida

I filed a claim for my AC with my home warranty company and they sent a tech (salesman) out from United Air Temp.  He told me that the warranty wouldn't cover my AC, and then quoted me almost $6000 for a low end AC unit (both inside and outside units) and install.  I got quotes from 2 other companies, and they came in around $2600 for the same size 2 ton unit (inside and outside), but better brand and higher SEER rating.

I understand United Air Temp is a large company, but they must have something in place that is incentivizing this behavior.  I could understand a quote for maybe $3200, but $6000?!?!  United Air Temp, stop comissioning your employees to rip off your customers!
