This company should not be in business. As a matter of fact I am collecting complaints against this company for a class action lawsuit.
I've been known the owner for about 5-6 years and he always gave me bad service, but because I was poor I had to accept it. None the less, In July I had to move to Sacramento so I asked if he can give me a cheap but good running car so I can move to Sacramento. He sold me a 1997 Chevy Venture and he assured me 10 times that this van will take me and a trailer from U-Haul all the way to Sacramento. I gave him $900.00 as half payment on the car, and the balance to be paid when I move to Sacramento. So, when he gave me the van, he said not to worry about the think that shows me that the car is overheating, because is
nothing wrong with it. I trusted him. So, I went and rented the trailer from U-Haul, packed the van and the trailer, put my daughter and my handicapped mother on it and left on July 22nd, in the middle of the night, because I did not want to drive in traffic. About 70 miles outside of Los Angeles (by the way I was driving from Orange County), the car started to overheat really badly, so I had to take the first exit (I believe was Tomline), and stop to van to cool off. I was in the middle of nowhere, pitch black and just us waiting for the car to cool down. So, I left the house at midnight, waited about 3 hours to cool down and then I realized I have to go back to the shop, since I was not going to make it to Sacramento. I almost lost the apartment that I rented here,
but lucky for us the manager understood the situation and she said she was going to hold it for me. So after numerous stops, to cool the car, I arrived at about 8 am to VM Auto repair and I asked for Dan the owner. They said he was gone to Arizona. I had no choice but to return back to the old apartment (thanks God, I did not returned the key) unload everything, take the trailer
back to U-Haul, where I was told that I lost the money, since I did not finish the trip...... The following day I went back to the shop, I have him the keys to the van, and I asked nicely to have my money back, and the expenses that I incurred during this unfortunate trip which was around $300 (the trailer, the gas, and the food that we had on the road). He said ok, and he told me to wait.
So, I waited until closing time, which was 7 PM, and he told me that he made no money that day and need to come back the following day. I came back the following day with my handicapped mother ( by the way, since it was the weekend, I had to wait until Monday), in a wheelchair, begging him to give us the money, because I do not trust that van anymore and I can't wait for the
repairs to be done. He said that we need to go home, and not create a bad atmosphere for him there, and the will help us move to Sacramento. He said he will be at our house at 2 PM with a trailer to help us out. I accepted in lieu of my money. So, we went home by bus and waited for the owner to come and help us out. At 7 PM, that night, since he did not showed up, I tried to call him,
but he turned the phone off. I called some friends of mine, and he gave me the $1200 that I lost because of VM Auto repair, went and rented a truck, since I had no car, and went back the following day asking him for my money. He said that I destroyed the car and he will not give me any money back, and to live the premises. I had to live since I had to arrive in Sacramento and take the
new apartment that we leased. Now, I am posting everywhere I can my story and ask other people who had problems, with this shop to contact me, because he cannot continue to be in business doing those types of things to poor people. I may be
poor but I am not stupid. Thank you for taking the time to read my email
.
