VMI Wouldn't answer questions, red flags immediately! Oak Brook, Illinois

I just received a phone call from 630-571-3201. I was hesitant about answering, but since it was a local # I figured it could be a doctor/local business/friend whose number I didn't have.

I picked up and the first thing the lady said was that she saw my resume on CareerBuilder and wanted to set up an interview. She asked if I was looking for a full time position and I told her that I was looking at jobs out of state so it would have to be really good to keep me here.Iasked her about the company and she said it was Staples- LIE! This number (which I looked up while it was ringing!) belongs to VMI, who may work on behalf of Staples, but that was an immediate red flag. I asked about the nature of the job and she became very uncomfortable. She said it was sales and marketing but "due to the level of experience on my resume I could move up quickly"... another red flag. When I told her that I'm looking at jobs on the east coast she quickly ended the conversation, saying for me to call her if I changed my mind- again odd, because this infers that they are continually hiring, so the job must have high turnover.

She obviously didn't want me to waste her time, as I'm sure she spends her entire day making these stupid calls and suckering young adults in for interviews. Most companies on CareerBuilder e-mail first and invite you to check out their company. VMI cannot do that because you will read about how they are a scam, so they call you and hope you are gullible enough to show up uninformed.
