Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value

The crew was courteous and even fun but they were slow, chatty and disorganized. The owner sent an extra man to the job promising a shorter move time overall. The job was primarily loading from a storage unit. 5 guys?! 3 were standing around the majority of the time. It took 1.5 hours longer than estimated and with the extra man, this made the move $495 more than the estimate. Our walls were damaged in multiple places and we absolutely felt taken advantage of. They promised to fix the walls and refund some of our money. Since their last communication saying that, I've reached out twice and have heard nothing. We chose them because they are a veteran owned business and it hurts my heart to leave a review like this, but I would not recommend Monach Movers to anyone.

Everything was fine in the beginning. The movers themselves were kind, respectful, hard workers. But, the owner, Mr. Wayne Edwards was not honest. I wanted the whole house packed, moved, and unpacked and he quoted me between $1600 and $2000 which sounded low but great. When the Packers came, didn't know they were supposed to pack and charged me $4600. Horrible experience - no communication between him and office workers!! Think real hard because the nice ma is not honest!

I hired Monarch Movers 2x in the same week to assist with moving my items from a Condo and a garage. The workers were very nice, accommodating and helpful. However, when dealing with Wayne, (the owner) be sure to get everything that you discuss with him regarding rates and restrictions in writing! He likes to make empty promises and changes the rules as he goes along. He is not a good communicator thus creates a lot of confusion. He advertises on his truck that they offer free boxes, but each time there were no boxes on the truck.

The second time I used them he sent a 25 foot UHaul truck that was over half full with items belonging with another customer!!! There was no room for all of my items! A short move of items in a garage to a storage unit took over 7 hours!! The owner gets defensive when you call him on discrepancies. Wayne is arrogant and talks in a condescending manner like he is doing someone a favor! Hiring a moving company is supposed to help make moving less stressful. This was not the case. I was very disappointed. I would not use again!

On 2 Dec 19, Wayne contacted me by text offering to refund my money in full. He asked that come by his office. I went by his office around noon. He proceeds to tell me that he admits the move did not go well and he is willing to refund me $625 but only if I take down the negative reviews that I wrote. He continued to text me into the evening trying to bribe me. He never honored the refund. He is dishonest and lacks integrity! Buyer Beware!
