White County Cable Service

I have had White County Internet for over a year.  When renewing I was required by White County to sign a contract to get service at all because they are the only company in the area. The price was raised substantially.

I was told by their phone rep I could drop down to a lower package during the contract year that was a lie.  Now they have added fees for not sending me a bill, which I already was doing, (paperless billing) and they are now charging me for the paperless billing.  It's is not the amount, it is the principle of the thing. I pay $73. 65 for INTERNET ALONE.  Their service is terrible, most of their employees are lazy and their prices are ridiculously high.

Their service for the first year was meager, their connection stops for hours or days. The tech came out on a Friday before a holiday, took their modem/wifi out, blaming the connection problems on it, and then plugged in another.  He did not call the office and register the new modem/wifi he installed. WE had NO WIFI for the entire 3 day holiday weekend. We had to wait for 2 more days for a tech to come back out to register the modem.

This did not solve the problem.  We just dealt with it.  We had come into this on a special price for new accounts and thought, well we are just getting a good deal and lousy service. White County if the ONLY company in our area.

The next Tech said oh it's the connection on the house.  I will run you a new line.  He got approval, which I was shocked he got, then put in a new modem/wifi, ran the line and left it on top of the ground to the road where their wire came into our yard. They will be in next week to bury it. Not! It took 6 weeks!! I had to call them 3 times, re-explain the problem every time. One guy came out and couldn't do it. The next week another guy came out, dug a half-inch trench swept a little dirt over the wire and left. The connection if still crap.

The Arkansas Attorney General's office has bowed out of any complaint regarding cable companies so you have no recourse except a Class Action Suit.

I want the fees removed from my bill, I want the lower-priced package below what the contract is charging. I assume the connection quality is crap and always will be, so I am not asking for a miracle there.
