In the United States of America vs. Richard Sylvester Berry Date of Action: 3/5/2014
On March 5, 2014, the United States of America filed an Indictment in The United States District Court for the District of Arizona against Richard Sylvester Berry and Why Pay A Lawyer. Charges filed allege the business and Mr. Berry are in violation of multiple federal laws prohibiting bankruptcy fraud, bankruptcy bribery, and making false statements.
Specifically, the charges allege that Mr. Berry defrauded bankruptcy trustees, the bankruptcy court, mortgage lenders, and other financial institutions by delaying lawful foreclosures, paying cash to a bankruptcy debtor so that the debtor would list specific real properties in their schedule of assets, and making false statements to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The Indictment ordered Mr. Berry to forfeit any property and any other assets obtained via Mr. Berry’s unlawful business transactions.

Ms. Jean Berry Mr. Richard Berry Principal: Ms. Jean Berry
Note: Berry has been in and out of prison for ripping off his "clients". Once he was stripped of the license to practice law (again a long to tortured story) he established Why Pay a Lawyer and offered legal services as a paralegal. Bankruptcy Court Judge Baum imposed a one Million dollar fine for his outrageous actions. This fine did not stop Richard Berry. No, the atrocities continued and still go on today, as is evidenced by the indicted announced above. The damage caused by this man and his company is beyond measure.

Richard Berry - Why Pay a Lawyer

You mention the statements about Richard Berry (Why Pay a Lawyer). My report is directly from the Attorney General's office United States Court, District of Arizona. Our web site has several warnings about and companies who ripoffed their clients. You ask why I warn people about bad actors. It is because I want to help people avoid innocently getting caught in traps. Are these folks going to hire me - most likely not because they don't need bankruptcy assistance. My prayer for them is to share this information with others so the con artists can be encouraged to spend their time on more productive ventures. In truth I know that will not happen, but I can only hope.
Again, I defend your right to have an opinion.
My best to you.

I have no idea where you are getting your information, but my husband (currently sitting in his office working away) is alive and well; he was also very interested to hear he is now a Morman. I appreciate and will fight for your right to have an opinion.
My best to you, Diane L. Drain

her husband MARK JOSEPH PEHRSON , died (((REDACTED))).
4/7/15
Cant blame him! his obituary is in Deseret news , which is the mormon newspaper .
she writes about other lawyers and just like the mormons think they are 'worthy" . when they turn out to be the crookest lawyers and judges in az .
Be careful doing business with this retaltion expert, (the lds way) she is bad mouthing so she can get the money from you , and believe me she is cheap but not for her legal services.
SHAME ON YOU DIANE . anyone have problems at all with diane drain CONTACT THE BAR of az
she is obviously frustrated

a lawyer who likes to use someone elses misfortune to make herself look good.
what happened to her mormon ex husband? it appears as though he married a man after being married to her, certainly looks that way in the records.
guess she is quit frustrated ,
fact the az BAR , is a mess, goes after single small man . NEVER BIG firms
reading SHAMING JUSTICE is where Diane should direct her energy,
there are always two sides to every story.
Ask yourself why would someone write about another lawyer? and put it on their web site?
when they could be putting down cases they have prevailed and about THEMSELVES???
seems a bit ODD to me .
It is not that hard to get convicted of anything in AZ , just one rumor and there you go , too many willing to jump on the band wagon.
it s old news Diane, maybe time to put it to bed, if you do not think it can happen to you, think again !
