At first, I was hesitant to write my horrific experiences with Paul Malcolm (Director of Operations) and his company, but after talking to a few other former employees of Dynasty and hearing similar stories, I felt compelled to.

I was employed at Dynasty for a few months.  I found Dynasty on CareerBuilder.com. The position sounded appealing "Sports/Entertainment Marketing."  I looked into their website which looked professional, but the information provided was vague.  I sent in my resume and I was contacted immediately (the next day) by Sonia Malcolm, Paul Malcom's wife and secretary.  When I drove up to the building, there was no indication it was a business. It was a run down brick building with no signs from the exterior. I walked inside and saw a small sign on a door which stated "Dynasty."  I walked in and couldn't believe how shameful the office was.  It seemed the poorly maintained office was being disguised with dim lighting.  Regardless, I kept an open mind and met with Mr. Malcolm for my preliminary interview.  During my interview, I was impressed with Mr. Malcolm.  He was upbeat, personable, professional, educated and seemed passionate about his job.  He explained the concept of the business which was to uniquely market various businesses through direct marketing, an inexpensive and innovative way to advertise.  Mr. Malcolm offered me a position at his company and said I had great potential.  I accepted the position and started immediately.  It was one of the worst decisions I have ever made.

During my employment at Dynasty, I worked 60-70 hrs a week selling various promotions business to business.  I was kicked out, sometimes escorted out of companies for soliciting.  I tried to keep a good attitude, but the job became frustrating when I was walking .. let me correct myself .. I mean RUNNING up and down the street Mon-Sat rain/sleet/snow selling promotions.  I also ruined my car during this job since the job required EXTENSIVE driving all over Mass and New Hampshire.  It didn't seem Mr. Malcolm cared about the wear/tear of his employee's vehicles or if we were selling promotions during a thunderstorm, hours away from the office.  He gave various 'motivational' speeches on how working for the company was a true investment for our future since we would be able to eventually run our own business.  Personally, I felt like a slave along with many of his other unhappy employees.  During my interview, I stated how work/life balance was truly important for me, yet he led me onto false promises and said it was feasible.  But during my employment, I was required to work ridiculous hours starting from 7am to sometimes leaving the office around 10pm.  I was tired, exhausted and unhappy.
