I have also been 'had' by the very same company. Two years ago i 'won' a 2 week holiday in three parts, of which i had to pay 600 yes pounds not dollors, tried to cancel two days after, and was told that Via email, that i had to wait for my holiday package to come in the post, i waited over a month!!. When it came i returned it with the letter asking for a refund. My credit card company asked me to send all the copied information, i had, only for them to come to the conclusion that i had not but a victim of fraud and that there was infact nothing i could do.

This went on for so long back and forth, for over a year. I was given Email and websites that contained nothing or very little information of my package. I was also given a number that was never answered. I can't even tell you how much hassle i have been through. Then out of the blue i had a phone call from the resort, telling me that my package had expired and that if i wanted to, i had to pay a further $300 to keep it, you can guess what my answer was.

Then today they rang me again!! asking me pay more money so i dont miss out?! are these people insane? The women on the end of the phone infact DID say that this problem is happening alot (hump)

This company makes me sick, no wonder they can afford to give 'discounted' vacations they must be make a killing 600 a time. I now try to forget about my stupid mistake, and have learnt the hard way that if something sounds to good to be true it more than likely is.

Calypsocayresort-persistant in having my card details

AUTHOR: Nikki - (United Kingdom)

POSTED: Friday, October 10, 2008

At about 3:45pm today I recieved a call with an automated message telling me I had won a cruise to Florida and to press 9 to continue. As I have entered loads of competitions on the internet recently (probably the reason why I get so many junk calls) I thought I'd better check it out.

After continuing with the call an American lady (can't recall her leaving a name) asked for my name and telephone number. I told her my name but hesitated with my telephone number because I thought if I had won something they would have my phone number next to my name. After quizzing her as to how I'd won this competition in the first place she told me that perhaps myself or a member of my family had entered my name into a competition at a hotel on a recent holiday. Now, I was in Spain last month and I do recall filling out a sheet which were offering prizes as a result for our feedback-of course, I've forgotten what those prizes were now.

After hearing this lady talk about the resort for what seemed like an eternity and checking I wasn't somehow being charged for the call, she then put a downer on my high hopes by telling me that I'd need to pay 299 for the cruise which was a bargain as it originally costs 3000. Bargain! There's me hoping I'd won it for nothing.

At this stage I was ready to say no because I have a wedding to go to next October in Ayia Napa which is costing over 1000 and I just can't afford it. She then told me she can extend the 18 months claim period to 3 years. Really starting to sound desperate now.

Eventually, after trying to sound keen and hoping she'd stick something in the post and let me get on with my life, she put me through to a man who then wanted my bank details! I told him to send me some literature in the post but he told me that if he sent details out to me I basically wouldn't get my unique code to claim my prize. I had to give him my details there and then or pay the full whack for the holiday. I didn't hang up on him as I know that with a lot of call centres if you do that then they just phone back a few days later so I told him I definately wasn't interested unless I could look into it myself first. He was quick to end the call then.

Sound dodgy or what?
