I am disappointed, frustrated, angry, thwarted.
Please correct me if I'm wrong but a KIA dealer is KIA itself correct?I am posting this letter because the KIA Consumer Affairs website chose to close my case before a resolution has been reached. There was not possible to reach a resolution with the dealer on the phone or else.
I have paid a full price for my Sportage ($22,500). I did not barter the price; neither did I ask to see the dealer's MSRP invoice prior to purchase as Consumer Reports advised us to do.

The dealer called me a liar, has an abrupt and harsh attitude when we spoke on the phone and I find it intimidating, as he won't allow me to talk. When I get a brief chance to say anything, everything I say are lies according to him.I started to get in touch with him regarding my problems when the car still had 40 miles on the counter, regarding this matter.

My chief complaint is that I was cheated of $1,000 by the dealer, I ended up having a different Sportage than I asked, and the fact that the dealer shared our personal data with third parties.

On Saturday, February 2x, 2007, I have spoken with the sales manager from Pomoco Kia, 4116 W. Mercury Blvd.,Hampton, VA,.We started to do all the paperwork and we started to sign papers. When it came to the agreed Ford trade in price he offered me $1000 less than agreed.I was embarrassed and did not want to cause a scene or have a dispute, or even get more embarrassed in front of my wife that evening. We were half way through completing the paperwork already.

If he represents KIA cars totally, I must say to that this was my worst car buying experience. Personally, I like to change cars every year or two.I was particularly unhappy with the after sale support or courtesy (NON existent) and poor communications from the Pomoco KIA in Hampton. We did spend $22,500 on a new vehicle after all. I had a terrible experience, my worst one with cars so far!

The Sportage seat bothers me, there is no lumbar adjustment for the back of the driver's seat.
I am reluctant to go to the KIA service centre (which is close to Pomoco KIA). I have been to the KIA service center, Hampton, on Friday June 1st 2007 for my first oil change and I had to wait 1hour and 40 minutes, even though I made that appointment one week in advance.
I do regret making this purchase. I am afraid of retaliation from the dealer and POMOCO! I have seen a legal advisor about this incident. But nothing happens fast. This was the most unpleasant car buying experience I've ever had.

It looks like as soon as a KIA sales manager made a sale the customer is soon forgotten by Pomoco KIA. The dealer does NOT represent KIA because a dealer should be trained / approved by a KIA Senior Staff Member.
I have wrote to KIA HQ, to all those:
Kia Motors America
PO Box 52410
Irvine, CA, 92619 - 2410
Phone: 1 800 333 4542
Kia Motors America
111 Peters Canyon Rd.
Irvine, CA 92606-1790
Phone: 949-468-4800
Fax: 949-468-4905

I have sent a registered copy of this letter to the following KIA people:
Donald K. Pearce (Vice President, Parts & Service
KIA Consumer Affairs HQ
EVP and COO Len Hunt
CFO N.K. (David) Kim

KIA cannot and will not do anything about this situation, and neither will POMOCO president.
I have asked on my letter of complaint to KIA website not to be contacted by the dealer anymore under any circumstance, but somehow, a copy of my complaint got through to him and he kept calling my work number and when I answered, instead of trying to resolve this issue he shouted at me, called me a liar several times and did not give me a chance to say anything. He also said that all it matters to him was that he sells cars.

It looks like KIA gives total control to the dealers. If that is the case they should screen all the potential associates closely and take in consideration a serious matter like mine.

My KIA experience started on a bad foot right there, in the show room at Pomoco KIA, Hampton, VA. I will eventually get back my loss. I will not rest until I see this matter dealt with positively. In the eventuality that KIA chooses to ignore this matter further, I will follow the next legal avenues available, until there will be none left.

The reason I chose KIA is the great warranty, the price and the extra standard features. I was excited about trying a KIA car, after previously owning 3 Ford vehicles. It all turned up to be a nightmare experience. It grinds me inside knowing that a Sales Manager is allowed to use this kind of practices, and get away with it.

Please contact me through this website if you have had similar experiences. Thanks.
