I don't know how anyone can control a daughter inlaw into cutting all ties with her family after marrying one of the "chosen ones" but that is just the tip of the outrageous iceberg, when it comes to the pain and outrage this family has inflicted on those that surround them. There is the whole at home health scam, reducing a fine local hospital to an object of ambarrassment. There are other former spouses who were treated as slaves before getting out, an entire church congregation expected to worship them as they rewrote the Bible, nasty letters about the pastor who dared to stand up to them, rent not paid and punishment to anyone who insists on it being paid. There are the grandparents who can no longer be around children because of the pain of not being able to see their grandkids. There is a day of reckoning for ignorant, outrageously mean hearted bigots, and that day will come regardless of who the Heibners think they are.
