Well, I guess I was almost scammed. I live in a gated apartment community in Wichita Kansas and was visited by this short, high school looking girl who was very vibrant and bubbly. She went through her shpeel about the magazines and her wanting to win a trip to Cancun. I felt bad for her, especially since she said she was travelling all the way from Vermont to get these points. She even told me that the black eye she had came from one of the other girls that she was beating out in points. I thought that I could simply renew my subscription and then get a new publication for my niece for Christmas.
I wrote her a check for a whopping $57 and was told that I would receive the publications in 4-6 weeks.
When she left, I had a bad feeling about what I had just done. Luckily my boyfriend is in law enforcement and asked me if I wanted him to go get my check back. I said yes and he ran to the next apartment complex where she was still selling. I didn't think our apartment complex let people solicit so I called the office and as my boyfriend was getting my check back the lady escorted her off the property. I am still weary as to whether she wrote down my account numbers but the time lapse hopefully didn't allow for her to do that. I then proceeded to google this Palmetto Marketing Inc. this morning and read many reports from people who were scammed out of their money and never received their magazines.
Do not let these people in whatever they say, whatever they do. I even read that someone posing as a salesperson for the company killed some lady. They are manipulative and luckily I got my check back but do not let them get away with this, call your apartment complex and get these people off the property. Let the local law enforcement know if you were not able to get your check cancelled or back. They will not send you anything from all of the reports that I have read. Thank goodness for my boyfriend or I would have been one of the unlucky victims!

I worked at one of the hotels that bob & Tina & beau & Oran (sp?) all stayed at I became great friends with them all and would often go visit them if by we're in a fun part of the country. They would pay for me to come see them.
I never saw physical abuse of any kind, I did ask about some questionable people from time to time & one guy was arrested for murder/ manslaughter while at my hotel & went to serve his sentence & it was kinda like the norm . Kinda strange.. I don't have anything bad to say just hearing the name brought back a lot of memories.
Does anyone know what happened to beau I have seen him referred to a the "late beau"

Hey, yeah I remember the good times...but I also remember the brainwashing and they way Beau treated me when I left...and yes you may be right I didn't have "the look" lol but I def. had the attitude...I was honestly doing it JUST TO TRAVEL, I met some cool people, I met some shitty people, I became a s**t and I did a lot of drugs that actually carried out until I moved back home...I just battled a coccaine addiction with a former "crew mate" this summer...so I don't really think mag crew was like the greatest thing...but it made me grow up a lot...I am actually living with the love of my life and I am going to have a baby in Aug. so yeah...maybe i'll write you...you were actually one of the most positive things there...and no...you weren't grimy...but reading this and finding out that Lennon was...well I guess anything is possible.

My name is Afton and I think that I worked with Jen. In fact I think I trained Jen! Any way yeah if you didn't have the right attitude or looks in the business you weren't going to have a whole lot of fun and you won't make a whole lot of money. But Jen don't you remember the good times? Like those guys that spent the night in Bloomington that drove all the way from St. Louis just to "buy some books"? Yeah, I thought so. Any way, I did this job for just under a year and made a bunch of money doing it... and honestly! I never stole from any one, made lots of good friends with lots of good people that I still keep in touch with. All of those people, myself included, are still getting some of the three year subscriptions purchased. I guess the moral of the story is that if it is a scandolous sales person don't bother, but there really is no way to tell. I guess it's just intuition. Hello, My name is Jennifer. I worked with Palmetto about 3 years ago...I can't believe they are still scamming people...I just happened be bored and see what was going on with this company...d**n! There are way more negative responses than I had ever imagined! I thought maybe with all the negative responses earner Vinny would finally smarten up and get with it, I guess not. Ok this is for the public...why doesn't anyone report these guys to a news station while they are still in town...I MEAN THEY ARE HUGE SCAM ARTISTS HERE!!! I feel bad for all the car handlers, and managers and crew (well some of them) who actually believe the bull sh*t they tell you...I am living proof that you will survive without mag crew...hey you might even have a great life...I DO!!! Oh yeah by the way Beau Spencer...I am not a loser because I don't sell magazines...you are the loser for relying on 16-24 year old kids for your income. Now to everyone who reads this read on...everything that ex-employees say is true...it is a cult! I do have to give some positive feedback though, it was by far the worst experience of my life...but when I came back to New York it made me realize how much I take the smallest things for granted and now it has made me more complete as a person, I also got to travel around the country for like 4 months not a lot of 18 year old kids can say that.
When these young kids come to your door some of them really don't know whats going on...they are scared, tired and hungry...instead of slamming a door in their face just give them a sandwich or let them sit down and hang out for a while...they probably haven't been in a safe situation in a while...
