Please be very careful if you get an unannounced email like the one I received below. It seems to be a very effective racket to try and get someone eager for a job to reply to their phone number and buy their "services":
Your resume was presented to me by our research staff for a search that we were recently engaged to work on. Although you have a marketable background, it was not a match for this assignment. Should there be other opportunities in the future, we will immediately re-contact you.
