I bought a Mac Apple iBook G4 five years ago. It has a 10.3 operating system. Lately, it is failing to navigate many sites. This is because these sites now require a 10.5 operating system.

At first, I was told all I had to do was purchase their extended warranty and a copy of "Leopard" for $129.00 and 512 mega bites of memory for $50.00 and install them myself. When I told them I wasn't a computer person and I also wanted someone who would remove corrupted files and spyware, suddenly they told me that my hardware wouldn't support Leopard 10.5 and there was no way they could convert a 256 to a 512.

Well, what is it? Buy a bunch of products that you KNOW I won't be able to install but I have broken the seal on so you won't take them back? A bunch of products that you KNOW I will have trouble with so you can sell me a warranty plan... and THEN tell me that my hardward doesn't support Leopard? Or, you have no service departments or skilled help to do this so your marketing plan only provides for use once(for five years) and then throw away because you don't want to be bothered training anyone. Which is it? Or is it both?

Five years ago I paid TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS for this laptop. Today it is all but useless. This is another great corporate rip off of the American people. Because Apple, Inc., is a global company, they just don't care how much they abuse their clients and if you try to accomplish anything they will get nasty with you because they have no other agenda than to get the next bunch of money out of you. They cleared 38.2 billion dollars in profits last year. A little overpriced for the screwing over that they are dishing out.

Most of the people they hire to interface with the public are badly educated and really have no expertise in computers or in Apple products. Any time you talk with any of them they always have to go away and ask someone else. By the time the person who knows gets a garbled question from their blank-slate, they are dealing with third hand information. This is a terrible way to run a company but it demonstrates the Apple, Inc.
lack of comittment to anything other than rushing something out the door that they can command a price for with absolutely no investment for any type of follow-up for the client. You are just left out there swinging and the only way out is to buy your way out...again and again and again. This is the corporate model. This is Milton Friedman, laissez-faire, serve up slop, Republican business ethics.

These people have no conscience about what they do and they poison the minds of everyone they come in contact with. Stop buying Mac Apple products until these people develop a conscience.

5 year old laptop

AUTHOR: Ashley - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 21, 2009

Um, you have a 5 year old laptop, with out of date software and is too old to handle the upgrades. Not sure where you are ripped off here. 5 years out of a computer is very good these days. Laptops are not meant to be upgraded, they are meant to be thrown away when they have gone past their useful life.
