To Whom It May Concern:

I was recently victimized by a moving scam that overcharged me for delivering my destroyed/ruined belongings to my new home.

Aside from not picking up my stuff when they were supposed to, they brought over paper work that they had an unauthorized signer sign that would agree to go over their "guaranteed" estimate by nearly $3000. We had electronically signed, via e mail, the estimate and contract and were not told of anymore papers that needed to be signed. We were already out of state in our new home and had relatives handling the pick up which came three days late.

When the driver arrived at our new home, he came with a price of $3700 as opposed to the agreed upon $960 claiming that his contract, which was different then ours, stated it was based on cubic feet rather than weight. Both our contracts said that the amount of weight we had would fit into a certain amount of cubic feet. When he showed us the amount of space that equaled that number of cubic feet, it would have been impossible to fit 3500 pounds of belongings into it! Our contract said it was to be based on weight, not a poor packing job.

I got them down to $2000 because we knew somebody in the moving business that knew them. When they opened the door, all our stuff was piled on top of each other and thrown all over the place. I have pictures of that horrific packing job as well as my damaged belongings. The driver refused to open the truck and threatened to drive off if I didn't sign the "satisfied with condition of my belongings" report before he opened the truck. Out of love for my sentimental belongings, I signed. I also have three witnesses who were there and heard him say he wouldn't open the truck unless I signed. They also took the pictures which I can submit upon request.

The company is Destination Movers, formally known as Capital movers, who were all over the BBB with dissatisfied customers whom were also victimized. There is so much more to tell you. Please contact me via e mail or phone: 631 338 4881 or 646 379 1859. Please help.

Sincerely,

James xxxxxxxx
