I was approached in the parking lot at work by a man in his mid 40s. He was driving a Jeep cherokee and when he saw me he called me. He asked me if I spoke Italian, I told him I wish I did. I told him I speak Spanish, so he started communicating in broken Spanish, but he could make himself understood. He said he was in town because of an Italian fashion show and that he was going back to Italy the same day. He had a passport and what I thought were plane tickets in his hand. The name I read on the passport was Giusseppe. He said he had several Emporio Armani samples that he could not take back with him because he had to pay too much taxes.

He proceeded to show me jackets and two suits. They looked authentic to my untrained eye. As I offered to get someone else to see if they would buy from him because I did not have any money he said not to. He asked how much money I had on me. I told him I only had $20 and that I was not planning on spending any money on clothing. He said if I bought one suit valued at $800 he would give me two jackets for free. I told him again I did not have any money. He asked if I spoke from my heart. I said yes. Then he proceed to put six jackets in two separate bags in my hands and he said he would give them to me since I spoke from my heart. He asked again how much money I could come up with, I said $300. I figured Giusseppe was really a nice guy and that if he could give those jackets then I could come up with the money. I got into my car and he followed me to the bank. We both parked in front of the ATM, so a picture may have been recorded of him and the Jeep Cherokee, which he said was a rental.

Before he left I gave him my card with my number and e-mail address on it. He asked for the other $20 I said I had in my pocket and I figured if I had given him $300 so easily, what the heck, what was $20 more! He said he would be back in September and that he would call me then.
