In march 2013 My truck was in the shop for repairs and the local ford dealership set me up with a rental. I had only rented one other vehicle and that was a week before this occurred. That rental was also set up by the ford dealership due to repairs.

I got to the location and it was really busy. The girl that helped me flew through the paperwork and had me sign everything including the damage report while we were waiting for make ready to finish the vehicle. They had to get the vehicle from another location due to the fact that they rented the vehicle that was reserved for me the day before. They said that they tried to contact me but I never received any phone calls.

They brought the car around and backed it into a spot between two cars. I walked to the passenger side of the car as the rental person walked around and looked for damage. She then handed me the paperwork and said its full of gas so bring it back the same way.

When we got home my wife noticed that the stone guard on the passenger rear of the vehicle was missing and she asked me should we call and report it. I figured if the rental person didn't acknowledge it and write it down then apparently they must have known about it.

We turn in the car and then get a call from enterprise that said you damaged our vehicle. I said no we didn't. In fact the car was only driven to and from work. The guy said well I'm turning this over to damage recovery. I asked what that meant and he said I'm not sure but someone will contact you within 48 hours. A couple weeks later I get a letter from the damage recovery unit. I called them and told them the above facts and they said well we will send this to dispute. I asked what that meant and she said they would review the previous rentals for damage reports and that someone would contact me in a week or so.

I contacted the damage recovery unit yesterday 4/15 to determine the status of the dispute investigation. The lady told me that I would be contacted by a rep of the local branch. I was contacted this morning by the same girl who did the rental agreement in the first place. She said I need to get your side of the story. I pointed out immediately that she was the one who did the transaction and she said yes I was. She disputed everything I said as I said it and was completely rude as she spoke to me. She talked to me like I was a child being scolded. I told her that I felt it was a conflict for her to be doing the investigation since she did the initial agreement. she then told me that she would just leave it up to damage recovery to settle and that they would just file a claim with my insurance. I said its not right for me to have to pay for someone else's damage. She said " sir ill tell you this, no one ever admits to damaging a rental vehicle" and then hung up.

I have tried to be cordial and allow the process to work out but I feel that this is a scam to get someone to pay for another's damages. I will never do business with enterprise again and in fact will be complaining to the ford dealership also since the endorse this company. This is a scam!
