On Saturday, I got my phone bill from Qwest, which included a page representing "The Billing Resource," billing me $15.74 for Nationwide Voice Messaging 1X Set Up.

I have no idea who "The Billing Resource," "Nationwide Voice Messaging" are.

I certainly didn't authorize any charge.
I read that a number of people have had trouble with fraudulent Nationwide Voice Messaging.

I'm not sure how to fight this. I certainly didn't (knowingly) sign up or verify any dealings with this company. I did visit one of those "do so and so, get such and such free sites," but cancelled as soon as I saw that was a rip-off too. Perhaps, that's where they got my tele # since it was required before I proceeded. Never did I think that the telephone company would take that as a legitimate reason to bill me for services.

I'm disabled and because of the type of illness I have, must avoid stress. so, Contacting any of these people is dangerous for me. And I just can't do it.

Because of my total disability I'm in a class of protected persons under the Americans with Disability Act. There are laws that say if a person is injured and you cause further injury (which this is doing), you are liable.

Nationwide Voice Messaging & the Billing Resource are causing exacerbation of my problem, and Qwest telephone company by delivering the information that is causing me more injury is by very nature of that, party to personal injury.

Qwest telephone has a disclaimer that they are just sending out the bill and have nothing to do with it. But that won't fly. They are still liable, since they are in colusion with perpretating the fraud.

I've got to stop these people. If anyone has success or knows of someone who might represent/help me, please let me know.

And good luck to all of us who have run into fraudlent activities.

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you are having. I will say that we at Qwest are sincere when we have no control of letting these companies bill on our bill. We are governed by competition tariffs that require we make are bill available for alternate carriers to bill on it. I will say it sounds like you've done what you need to do to get this fixed. If the Qwest rep took the charge off the bill then they will send it back to the company in question. Likewise, no follow up is required for you unless the company chooses to send you a new charge for the item on their own letterhead at that point.

This is a follow up to my last post (I inadvertently posted that post twice).

Today, I called the tele # given by Qwest for "TheBillingResource," that # redirected me to another company in Florida, who was "Nationwide" but not "Nationwide Voice."

They said they knew nothing about the bill and showed no records. I called Qwest and they agreed to mark the charge as disputed and remove it from my bill; but, that doesn't stop "Nationwide Voice Messaging" from continuing to bill, next month.

I went to www.thebillresource.com. They had a phone number (different from the one given by Qwest) to call if there was a question. I called it and it the call was again redirected to the company in Florida.

I noticed on the phone bill that it said Integretel by the charge. I went to their web site--it looked the same as "thebillingresource," and they also had a phone number to call. It was the same as on "thebillingresource." So, I got nowhere.

Both sites said I could file a notice on the internet, provided I give them all sorts of personal information, which I will not do.

As it stands, there is direct link between "thebillingresource" and "integretel" and neither phone number works.

I have no way of contacting "Nationwide Voice Messaging" and demanding that they remove the charge and to stop billing me.

Any suggestions anyone?
