Please Read!! This is an honest review of how this company treats you and your home! They could be doing this to your elderly mother's home!!

I was initially approached by PHRG while walking through my local wholesale club.  We ended up setting up an appt for them to come out even though we had our mind made up NOT to purchase windows.  We are very construction oriented and are in the midst of remodeling our first floor, my husband is a contractor and does high end custom flooring installs. They spent 4+ hours giving a fantastic presentation and sold us on 4 windows and a sliding glass door.  An outrageous price, but if the windows and the install were this great? then why not. So the next re-assessment was a couple weeks later, he showed up 2 hours late...

This was the start of the down hill disaster.  I can get over someone being late... but when the installers showed up, they didn't call ahead as promised (no big deal), we were home expecting them.  They weren't prepared with the correct materials so they used our pressure treated lumber to do the install of a sliding glass door.  Each person prior to the installers knew that our previous slider had a substantial amount of rotting wood. We were assured from day one that this would be covered.  When the installers removed the old door, they saw the amount of rot and saw what needed to be replaced. They tried to tell us that we had termites in addition to the rot.  This was not the case... But certainly a nice thing to tell a homeowner, right? Anyway, the door was ordered 2 inches short length-wise.  so they thought it was appropriate to just shim it out with 1x pine.  If this wasn't bad enough, we then walk down in the basement to where they had to cut 4 floor joists in order to replace a 5' section of the sill plate. they are all just hanging there with no support, they didn't shim them up and re-secure them to the sill plate. Also, the installer needed to cut the band board where our deck attached to the house in order to replace the sill plate.  He cut each and every bolt that was holding it to the house in a 12' section. And never re-secured the deck to the house!  They pulled up an exterior deck board that also showed some rot, and didn't replace this either.  Let me remind you that we were told this was all INCLUDED in our $8k bill...  They also told us that they broke our small basement window while replacing the sill but pretty much that it was our problem. He left his entire mess in the basement for us to clean up.

As if the sliding door was not enough of a headache, the four windows were left completely unfinished on the inside, i could see daylight through them!  The windows were not square in the openings even though they ordered them 1/4" short all the way around as they were supposed to.
Being that they left them unfinished and expected that we would just build extension jambs for them, they were not caulked and sealed as we were told at the time of sale. Oh! not to mention that they were sub-contractors! I don't mind that, usually they have much more knowledge, but we were told each and every person that steps foot into our house is on PHRG payroll and an immediate employee of Power.  Clearly not the case.  So, that evening after the install, a Quality Control guy comes to our house, i point out my concerns and he tells me " I have worked here for 5+ years and I have never seen a job left unfinished like this!"  Straight out of the employee's mouth! He assures me that they will be in contact asap to finish the job.   2 weeks later someone finally comes back out again,  he's as rude as you can imagine!  not to mention unprepared and certainly not there to fix it then... so I have to wait 4 more weeks for someone to come out!  They are supposed to be replacing 6 of the 8 window sashes because they were handled poorly prior
to install and the grids are crooked and out of place.

I can go on and on about the poor handling of our job. They removed the old windows and laid them in the grass and let the sun bake the lawn and kill it for the entire summer, they cut the floor joists and left my floor unsupported for 2+ months, 3 weeks after the install my screen door on the slider is rusting already and I am told by PHRG that "it's just the way it is".  Obviously they entered my house as if it was a construction site, and they made sure to treat it that way by leaving their trash and their incomplete work for my husband and I to deal with.  I am completely disgusted with this company and will do my part to make sure that no person I know will ever use them!
