vaughn builders inc eagle one builders un professional attitude, terrible work, wont pay owed money. LIAR!!!!!! Jacksonville Florida

From the word go we had issues with this contractor from lieing about time frame of job completion to not having the money to actually do the work and buy matreials and pay sub contractors from own business account so asked us for money that was not at the scheduled times as per the contract stated to so that work could be completed or moved to next stage. mulitlpe jobs had to be redone by either another person or myself after I paid to have him do the work from redoing the whole shower stall with new green board to refinishing all the drywall in the whole addition as screws and seams were poppinng up all over the place after I had spent time and money on painting and did exactally as I was asked to do so that would nt happen from priming to multiple coats to cover there blemishes and it still had to be refinished over 8 months after completion as screws continued to pop out of the finshied dryawall.

 I was threathened by his sub contractors about payments not made by him when they should have been and told I was going to get leans on my home. I even had the concrete sub tell me they were going to comme rip it all back up and take it as they had not been paid by Dean vaughn the owner of vaughn builders. I told him about the drywallers smoking and drinking in my home while working  and nothing was done about the drinking and now I end up with work that is popping screws and seams that can been seen by family and friends that come to our home and it was embarrasing. SO I asked him to come fix it and weeks later they send the same dryawall people out that did the bad work and all they did was slap a bunch of drywall mud all over the screws and leave saying Dean was to come back and do all the sanding and painting himself which never got done. So weeks later I did all the work myself after being told I would be reimbursed for all the money spent and time it took for me to do the job myself as he was too busy to come do the work and make it right. this was 9 months ago and still no money from him. over 400 in materials and 40+ hours of my time spent on weekends and not seen a penny from him.

No gutters were installed on the new roof they put on and the rain water floods my yard and has runined my grass and washes away anything I try to do to fix it. The concrete poured out front was not done right and the correct pitch put on it so that the water runs to the street but runs up to the garage door causing puddles where we park everytime it rains.

The concrete in the garage isnt level it has sink holes and cracks all over it and puddles up and the water runs to the back of the garage not out the door if you park inside with a wet car. All the dryawall in the garage is now poping seams and screws just like the upstaris and stair well did.

the electriacan that they used wired up a light wrong so that the switch in the garage turns off a light in the hall way goiing up the stairs instead of the outside light like it was susposed to be set up to do.

I can go on and on with all the issues even took lead painted wood from my house being it is very old and threw it in a dumpster instead of disposing of it propperly like code calls for so what else it hidden and not right on this job??

This is just one of many reports I am puttng out on the web to warn others of this man and his company to hopefully keep others from having to deal with him and his screwups and band of misfits that did the work here at my home. When it came down to it all we (my wife and I) complained too much! We had to high of standards for wanting things right! that is what he told us. I have over 200 pictures of the probelms as they happend and how I repaired some and how they tried to repair things even pictures of the beer bottles in my garage on the floor and in the dumpster and that is right next to the lead paint covered wood that just happened to be in that shot at the time I took it looking for more beer bottles. Had I been paid like promised I wouldnt have turned to all this but then again it is the right thing to do warn others so they are not subjected to such abuse and shotty work like we had to deal with. Now the law suit is in the works the next chapter in this mess but I will not stop until it is resolved.
