I keep seeing Allstate TV ads touting the good driver checks they send to their customers who don't have claims but I have not received mine. I have a clean record for the past 5 years and for for 15 years prior to that. I thought I should qualify. I could not find anyone else who is withAllstate and received a check either. I inquired through their Customer Care (big joke) and was told by Kate that the ad did not apply to people who live in Tennessee.

First, that leads me to believe that they are guilty of false advertising. Second, if they don't think Tennesseans are as good as the rest of the country, we shouls all boycot them. In fact, they need to be run out of Tennessee. Has anyone received one of these invisible checks in ANY state?

Bait and switch?

AUTHOR: CyKlopps - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 02, 2011

Thanks Olathe for the info. If I understood it correctly, a person pays a higher rate to get into that program and the rebate checks are less than the increased rate. More proof that Allstate are scoundrels. I received a letter in the mail from an Allstate agent in my town offering some really low rate. If I can get that lower rate I would drop my current agent in a heartbeat. When I responded to the letter and showed up at the other agent's office, they stopped talking to me the minute they learned I was already an Allstate customer. All they said was that rate would not be available for me. They had not run my credit or driving record yet. Bait and switch comes to mind. My wife and I watched the Allstate commercial 4 times focusing each time on the tiny print at the bottom of the screen before we were able to determine that is said "not available in all states". What else it said we could not determine yet. I have reported this to our Attorney General as possible false advertising. I hope they ban Allstate from doing business in Tennessee. Also, Olathe, it might do you well to watch for a sale on flea collars. I have heard that if you lie down with dogs you can expect to get fleas. You did say you worked for Allstate, didn't you?

bonus check

The commercials you see are for the platinum line of the new auto insurance.  They do leave that part out of the commercials.  The Your Choice Auto line came out in 2007/2008, so if you had your policy before then, you aren't even eligible for the check.  95% of the time, we cannot rewrite people into that line b/c their premium goes up more than the bonus check would save them.  Maybe you should have talked to your agent before you filed this.
