I am writing this report to let everyone know of a someone who has scammed my husband and I of over $4200.00. His name is Nafeh Abunab from American Elite Studios on Dearborn Heights Road in Dearborn Heights, MI. He was my wedding photographer and videographer. I paid him $4,273.93 in full, before the wedding which took place Oct 2002.

We have been given so many excuses throughout our time waiting on our photos and video of why we haven't received them, but now he has recently told us he is sick of dealing with us over getting our pictures and video and that he is not going to do our package for us because he doesn't have to. He said that he did finish our video and will give us that along with our proofs and negatives, but he will not do anymore work for us. He said that he didn't have to do any work for us because he changed his business name and his last business went bankrupt. The business we hired him under was named Vogue Studios.

We looked into the bankruptcy files in Michigan and he nor any of his businesses went bankrupt.. he merely changed his company's name to American Elite Studios. I believe he merely spent our money and does not have the funds nor does he want to deliver our product that we purchased.

I went to his place of business to pick up the negatives, proofs, and video and I ended up received my proofs with 1/3 of the pictures missing from the album, negatives with some missing as well, and two blank DVD's stating this is our finished wedding video we paid for. WE PAID OVER $4200.00 TO A MAN THAT NEVER GAVE US NOR WILL HE EVER GIVE US OUR WEDDING PICTURES AND VIDEO!!!!

This has been an emotional rollercoaster to deal with because it effects the memories I cherish on the most special day of my life.

Accusation about American Elite Studios is true

AUTHOR: JayB - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, January 24, 2013

Many of the things that were reported about American Elite Studios is true and I am going through a similar situation right now!  I was able to get my proofs and videos from them.  However this didn't happen until 8 months after the wedding.  They continuously told me that my package was sent in the mail.  When I didn't receive the package, I would call to follow up and they would always have an excuse about why the package was never sent.  This went on for 3 months.  I still have not received my final wedding book, and it has now been 17 months since the wedding.  I have tried to get updates from them about this, and all of my calls are never answered, and none of my messages are returned.  I am in the process of filing a claim in court now.  I would not recommend this company to anyone.

AUTHOR: Snowangelnurse - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 11, 2009

There has been a misunderstanding between Nafeh AbuNab, American Elite Studios/Vogue Studios, and the Underhills. We are in process of resolving our issues and am very happy that Nafeh is working with us to complete our wedding package. I fully expect to update good news on our finished products by next week. More to come shortly! Wedding was in Oct 2002.

Factual answer to false accusations

AUTHOR: Nafeh - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 04, 2008

The report has so much false information I don't know where to start from. But here are the facts for everybody who reads this to judge for themselves.

1- Tina and here husband had a contract with Vogue Studios, a sub-S corporation that operated in business from 1991-to-2004, not an individual. Vogue Studios performed the photography and videography for them on Oct. 12, 2002 and they had breath taking phootographs to remember their day with.

2- Their photographs were posted on the net, and they were given full proofs of the photographs. According to the terms of their agreement they had six months to order their final photographs and fulfill their package. The packages change every year and a price increase always reflects the increase in the prices of Albums and printing services.

3- Tina and her husband lost their package while Vogue Studios was in business on April 12, 2003 since they didn't not sumbit their order.

4- Vogue Studios went out of business in 2004. I finally heard from Tina in 2005! She called out of the blues to inform me that they've been busy with the army, and that she finally has her honeymoon photographs. I inform her in no uncertain ways that they have lost their package, and that Vogue Studios went out of business, and that the industry has totally change from the film age to the digital age, and I don't even know if we might even have their wedding negatives stored, but I totally sympathesize with their situation and tell them: "let me see what I can do to help you out."

5- I receive their photograph selection in 2007! I spend countless hours searching for their negatives among the thousands of negatives stored in boxes, and I tell them frankly that I have not been able to find them.

6- They show up without an appointment, un-announced and ask if they can search the boxes to see if they can find them. I buy them pizza and tell them they're more than welcome to search. They luck out and find the negatives in a box that was not marked for that year. The negatives are on a long continuous spool, as in 2002 in the digital trnasformation, all negatives were scanned and given new numbers and the orders get processed through their digital number not from the negatives.

7-The lab that we used to deal with has also gone out of business, so the process to print the photographs would involve going through all the images on the negatives, one by one through the entire length of the spool and find the image out around 400 images, and do that for every photograph. A very tideous and time consuming process, if somebody offered to pay me to do, I would refuse. Yet to help them out, I said I would do it, and that it is time consuming and I am very busy, and they have to be patient.

8-Luck me, I became the subject of their attention and their entertainment to occupy their free time, I was receiving calls constantly on my cell phone on all odd times, 7:30 in the morning, 11:30 at night week days, weekends, demanding that I drop everything and take care of their order because they have a special occasion visiting his family or her family and that they got to have the photographs because they're so important to them. All of a sudden they became so important to them six year later!

9- I have asked them, even begged them to stop pestering me. As I am going out of my way to help them out, they stop again in my office, unannounced and without an appointment to tell me they've consulted with a lawyer! Who also told them that they lost their package due to their negligence and that they should be thankful that I am even doing this for them.

10- By reading their complaint you see how they've lost touch with reality and they feel that they're entitled to every part of that packge back in 2002, even though the package used back then is not even offered or availabe or that even if they placed their order while Vogue Studios was still in business that they would have to pay the price difference went from $2250 to $2995 between 2002 and 2004, the last year it was still operating.

11- Stupid me, and out of my goodness, I actually process their order and send it to a specialized lab that can still print from medium format negatives. While I am waiting for the photographs to come back, they show up on a Friday while I need to get out to shoot a wedding, and Tina starts going on an emotional hysterical trip on me, and I tell them that I've had enough of them and their constant pestering and showing up with no appointments and that I can't handle that kind of insanity and I want them out of my life. I give them their negatives, and their vidoe, and tell them if they come on Tuesday, I would have the photographs back from the lab, and they could pick them up and leave me the heck alone.

12- Instead they don't show up, and I am hit with an avalanche of their insanity, writing letters to the Better Business Burea, receiving calls from a Toledo TV station, and associates in the idustry, and this complaint making me a "Ripp off" artist. They all get back to them and tell them their claim is ridiculous, that it is their fault they didn't place their order in timely manner, that if they did, they would have had all that they're entitled to, that it is absurd to expect their package after six years from any company let alone one that has folded!

13- I shall add that I've been receiving prank phone calls from their friends, showering me with obscenities, at all odd times, in appreciation for going out of my way and helping them out while I was under no obligation, legal, moral or otherwise, proving that "No good dead will go unpunished".

14- Though I have their enlarged photographs and an album ready for them, I am not going to release them to them, till they write an apology letter to all the people and organization, including this site and correct their false accusations where they're trying to tarnish my reputation and integrity, and admitting that they are factually at fault.

15- Their accusations are as valid as me trying to accuse the local manager of Montgomery Ward for selling me insurance on products I bought and not fulfulling the terms after they folded, or even I might have more of a case accusing K-marts of ripping me of over 20,000 shares worth over $400,000 before they declared their bankruptcy in 2003 and then emerged and are still operating while I am left holding an empty bag!
