I applied for a loan Online with a well know Loan Company. I never thought anything of it. Today I checked my checking account balance and saw that there was a $60.00 electronic check posted to my account. I clicked on the icon to see the image of the check and saw Blue Star Direct and the number to call.
Well I called the customer service number and they said i had enrolled in a credit card catalog on Elite Platinum. I never did. They she said that i could write a letter or fax it so they could investigate. She told me if i reported to my bank the fraud that it would take longer to refund my money.
I called the bank and they told me to wait and see if i was refunded the money and i was not i have up to sixty days to dispute the charges. So how did the get my info. I think they bought my information.

This has nothing to do with LendingTree. At all. People. When your looking for a mortgage, auto loan, home equity..the whole nine. It is put on your credit detail, that your in the process of looking for financial assistance. The Credit Bureaus, who maintain and update your credit files sell these details to companies who possibly specialize in the financing your looking for.
Obviously, this is particularly an unknown fact but this is the case. People are looking at individual companies when sometimes the culprit are the ones who are maintaining and grading your financial responsibility. To the person complaining about unknown withdrawns, Blue Star Direct, should be the object of your "affections"..if they can't explain how they got all your information into their systems then you need to look into the possibility that they perhaps bought it.
Remember, when you open up credit card accounts, those are listed in detail on your credit report as well and can be bought discreetly.
