A simple situation like yours is one that now requires LAWYERS & JUDGES & ARBITRATORS to make a decision on whether or not a company is responsible for repairing a damaged engine. And guess what? The LAWYERS & JUDGES & ARBITRATORS will 'interpret' the problem in a way that will almost always BENEFIT the company that is in the wrong! They'll do this because their livelihoods depend upon the companies in the USA that DEFRAUD, MANIPULATE, & DECEIVE the innocent people in the United States of America.

When they submitted the clam what Language did they use for why your car over heated? If your writer said any thing that shows that, it is your fault or neglect than they will not cover it.

Karl you offer a great Suggestion why she may have driven it when it was over heating.

However Dash Light are reliable dose it light up when you turn the ignition on?

She probably did not see the light before it was too late I have seen many people who did not know their ABS light or engine light is on.

Karl you don't know enough about Air bags and how it works. You are playing into a thing that has too many variables.

MAY NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY TOO, wouldn't you agree? Think about it, if an AIRBAG doesn't deploy in a Toyota vehicle when it is in a collision, then isn't it safe to assume that a 'warning light' may not come on when it is supposed to?

All cars come equipped with warning lights.  There are two VERY Importaint Warning Lights, one is the Oil Pressure, and the Other is the Engine Tempature Light.

These lights will come on if your oil pressure is too low, or if your engine is OVERHEATING.  This means STOP YOUR CAR, and call a tow truck or you will damage your engine.

If you follow this advise that  your car is giving you, you can save the engine, and the dealership or your auto mechanic can fix the problem. 

If you keep driving, as I am POSITIVE that you did, you will cause your engine  to OVERHEAT, and damage the engine. 

Next time you get a car, pay more attention to these warning lights, as it will save you lots of money.

This is a very expensive lesson for you, but I hope you learned from it.

WORTHLESS, in may instances. 'Google' this- ENGINE SLUDGE, and go to the consumeraffairs website about 'Toyota Engine Problems' and read all of the complaints about Toyota engines that are under the manufacturers warranty. Toyota Corporation KNOWS that these defective engines would cost them BILLIONS, even TENS of BILLIONS of dollars, so they'd rather deny the claims and allow individual customers to file lawsuits. Toyota & their lawyers KNOW that most consumers do not have the money, & the time to fight it out in the courts.
