F.U.L.K. INC. Door-to-Door Magazine Sales Scam Villa Rica Georgia

SCAM ALERT! F.U.L.K. INC. sends out teenagers to go door to door selling magazines with the story of the proceeds going towards Veteran Hospitals or Childrens Hospitals.  Their sales pitches are high pressure, and they're clever about trying to get inside your home (they're not wearing a coat and ask to come in to talk since it's only 20 degrees out).  They also tell you they get points for selling magazine subscriptions for a trip overseas.  It's a nationwide scam; the same scam but with varying company names.  

1) If you give them cash, then you'll never see it back.  

2) f you gave them a check, then put a stop on the check immediately and create a new bank account.  They'll have your routing number, checking account number, address, name, and phone number by the time they leave your home.  If you don't change your information then they can withdrawl money straight out of your account.  

3) Send the cancellation notice to the address on the receipt they give you, and send it certified mail to the address they gave you.  Under federal law, they are supposed to give you 3 days to cancel.  Past that, it's possible for them to go to a 3rd party collection agency to collect your money (which could harm your credit).  If they persist, then find legal councel.  They will file a Discovery and find the owner of the P.O. Box by forcing the USPS to release that information under current law.  

4) File a report to the BBB, your local authorities (it's illegal for them to do this without a peddler's permit, so hopefully they'll get arrested if seen :) ), and the FTC.
