Save your money - this service cost me $3500.00 and I got nothing in return. I had an appointment and got the same sales job used car sales job that everyone else has gotten.

I signed a contract and gave them a check for $4500.00 - the so called 'director' what a joke called me in my car on the way home and was going to give me a great deal. She lowered the price to 3500.00 but required me to give her a credit card. The charge went thru that night.

I then got on the web and started to look around and to my dismay I found a great many horror stories. So I called the next day - I never was on their web site I never did anything with this company but when I asked for my money back they refused. I just did not want to do business with such sleazy people.

This Great Expectations is located just south of Charlotte NC in Fort Mill SC.
They are located there because SC does not have a 3 day right to rescission which means you can cancel a contract and get your money back. So this company is located in SC and they are praying on people in NC which does have a 3 day right of rescission law.

Long story short I am out $3500.00. At the time I had two children in college and their education was coming out of my pocket. Their father is deceased. I ask the assistant director how show looks at herself in the mirror knowing she is ripping people off, these people have no shame it seems this was OK with her.

Save Your Money and if you hear of anyone thinking about this group tell them to run.

Also if you see signs - the ones that are stuck on the side of the road in the medians or the grassy area between the sidewalk and the street that read:
(similar to where you would see political ads)

SINGLE?
datingin(put your city or neighborhood here).com

This is their advertising - rip the signs down they are an eye sore and not a legal way to advertize anything.

Buyer's remorse

Your rip-off report seems hasty as it does not seem that you respected your own opinion enough to even try the service after paying. Unless they refused to provide the service, after purchasing you should at least give it a try before taking the gossip of internet gripes as the gospel. Who's to say what the true motivation is for the whiners out there.
Several people that joined took it seriously, attended the events, initiated contact and replied to invitations and really gave the program heir all and 9 times out of ten have been successful rather quickly.
I suspect the people whining and complaining on here are the same people who refuse to rarely follow through on anything except complining.
It's like everything else in life you follow through and put in some effort and get results ut if you don't follow the program and stay on your couch and expect people to know about you through tlepathy and come looking for you at your house you will not be happy.
But realistically that's with anything in life. I have witnessed tim and time again the service does what it says but you have to help yourself along a little also then all falls into place.
The service does work for those who actually give it a chance in my experience. If you don't cancel within the time frame (As they have used their time, money, service and material on you already), then breach your end of the contract by not giving it a chance at all and in addition actually expect all your money back, It won't happen and shouldn't!!

If you try and it doesn't work I would expect a partial refund at least.

Difference in opinion

I am a member of Great Expectations here in Fort Mill, SC. I have been a member for about a year now. I really don't have anything bad to say about this company. I realize and understand that Great Expectations is a franchise and each center is different, and like every company in the world not everybody is going to be happy. I first had a negative attitude towards GE because I wasnt getting many selections and most everybody was saying no to me.

I called the center to express my dissatisfaction. I received words of encouragement and support and they encouraged me to attend the events that they have a few times a month. I did go and had a great time! Everybody was so nice and I was introduced to so many members. Me and this one guy really hit it off. Funny thing is he is one of the ones that said no to my selection!! I am happy to say that we are still dating and it is going on 3 months now!

Each experience is different I guess. I just dont understand how somebody could be upset that they "knowingly" signed a No Cancel/No Refund agreement and then be upset when they cant get their money back. There really isnt a case there. Its just common sense I guess. I only found one negative report for the Charlotte GE office. I am happy to be part of this company. It brought me and my "hunny" together!!

A real bunch of scum

The reason they reduced the charges to 3500 was simply to get you to put it on a credit card. While they had a check for 4500 in hand they must have realized that you would go and do some research and in doing so would put a stop on the check. They anticipated this move and thus got you to put it on the card. Now they have your money and they have nothing to offer for it. I smell class action.

To Chris,

I read your report before going on my "interview" yesterday at their location in Baxter Village. I wanted to Thank you for informing me on what I was possibly getting into. I heard their sales pitches and was able to escape without signing anything, even though they came at me with 6 different offers. I feel bad for what happened to you, but you were able to save me from them.
