Drive as far away from this dealership as possible! I purchased a 1999 Lexus RX300 from Bill Harrison at Harrison Auto Sales on 12/6/13 (Friday). I took the car to my mechanic on 12/9/13 (Monday) for an inspection and discovered that the vehicle was in need of several minor and major repairs, most notably, my mechanic informed me that the vehicle's catalytic convertor had been removed and illegaly bypassed with a "straight pipe" (it is a violation of federal law for a vehicle to be sold or even driven like this).
I contacted Bill Harrison, the owner of Harrison Auto Sales, and explained the issue to him and requested that he make it right. He refused and instead informed me that he could recommend a mechanic to install a new catalytic convertor but that I would have to pay for it myself (shady tactic used by shady car dealers working with shady repair shops).
At that point, I requested a full refund in exchange for returning the vehicle to Mr. Harrison. Mr. Harrison became belligerent, shouting at me and accusing me of "nitpicking the vehicle" and "trying to rape him" by requesting a refund for the illegal sale.
I am now forced to either pay a minimum of $2,000 for vehicle repair fees just to make the vehicle right or take Mr. Harrison to court. Terrible customer service plus an "F" rating with the BBB plus selling illegal vehicles and not taking responsibility when caught equals stay away from Harrison Auto Sales of Columbus, OH!

If you want to keep the car, then yes, you will need to pay for it yourself. However, check your small claims court statutory limits and if under, you won't need an attorney to get a court order to undo the sale. One word about the BBB. The BBB is NOT a government agency! Anybody can BUY whatever PHONEY RATING they want. The "F" simply means they have not yet PURCHASED their "membership" and phoney rating. If they do that, they can get an "A+" phoney rating. The BBB is a scam.
