I am a librarian at a library in South Carolina and a couple of months ago I was out on vacation. I had a sub filling in for me. A rep from Infomatika called the library wanting her to agree to ordering a book costing $400.00 she told them that she wasn't authorized to order the book. The rep then called back to verify her address and name and before you know it they are sending a book for $400.00.

I tried getting in touch with them to discuss this problem but I couldn't reach them. They called me today saying they were going to turn it over to collections if I didn't pay for this publication. I was told that they had my sub on tape agree to the ourchase of this book.

Well what they did not have on tape was the rep from Infomatika asking her was she authorized to order this book. I exchanged words with the representative from Infomatika and was told they they would call back in a couple of days after I have spoken with my board members and by then I better have a solution ready. The solution is for them to stop harrassing and bullying people into purchasing something they don't want or need.

The Solution is for You to Tell Infomatika to Get Lost! They are a Total Fraud Like World Wide Source, Ameri-Source and IT Data Direct!

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

Dear Chelsea:

First you must realize that these entities are total frauds. The taped 'agreement' is so easy to edit in today's digital technology that it would not stand up in a court of law anyway.

Second, a legitimate directory will always send you a written copy of the agreement and a proof. If Infomatika sent you either one I'll be surprised.

Third, look at a map and see that Champlain, New York is a small village on the border with Canada. It is a short drive from Montreal on the autoroute. That is where these criminals are actually located. The 'mail drop' is to fool you, and to make it easier for them to mail out their scam invoices.

So I suggest you report them to the Attorney General of New York, Your Own Attorney General, the FTC and the Post Office for mail fraud. Then when they call let them know that you've reported them. Screen your calls and dump these losers. They can't actually make you pay. They can only intimidate you.
