James Hampton Of Paramount Builders LLC Neglegent and Incomplete Construction Old Hickory Tennessee

Our project was originally contracted with Gary McCain of McCain Custom Builders. In the very early stages of the project, Gary McCain informed us that he was selling the business to James Hampton's company, Paramount Homes LLC. For many months into the project, James Hampton and his assistant, Scott Miller seemed very attentive and interested in the quality of the project. This came to an abrupt end towards the end of December 2007.

Our house still required back yard excavation, along with many other internal items that were left incomplete. We have a central vacuum system that we purchased 2 sets of attatchments for that were not supplied. Both sets were very costly, but paled in comparison to the excavation work that needed to be done. In addition, our basement wall structure required bolts to properly secure it and Hampton failed to install them, seriously compromising the structure of the basement walls and the house frame. With the assistance of Superior Walls and a friend in construction, the bolts I properly installed them. In addition to this, our partially finished basement was sheetrocked before the HVAC installer was able to route a condensation pipe outside causing a leak that damaged our sheetrock.

We tried to contact Hampton after the holidays and he never returned our calls or emails. Hampton also never supplied us with the home warranty that was included in our purchase contract. He is not bankrupt, he just blew us off. We have also recieved threatening letters from contractors that were not paid by Hampton. James took our money and used it to subsidize other projects rather than using it for own house. When he exhausted these funds, he simply stopped paying the contractors as well.

James Hampton is neglegent and should never be allowed to operate as a builder again. I will do everything in my part to help assure this. Meanwhile, if anyone ever comes across James Hampton when seeking any type of contract work, steer well clear, apparantly he has done this to many other clients as well.
