Jim Norton Ford Ford Corporation Sold me a Lemon Broken Arrow, Oklahoma
*Consumer Comment: Consumer Advice
I bought my truck brand new in 2001 with 5,523 miles on it. In 2004 the trans mission went out in it at 50,473 miles and the dealership rebuilt since it was still under warranty. Then in 2006 the transmission went out again at 70,905 miles on it and now the warranty was out so they replaced it with a brand new manufactured rebuilt transmission and my expense of $2339.99. Now at 113,103 miles it is out once again and I have never hauled anything on the back of it.

Sounds like they missed something with the cooling of the transmission fluid.
Most common issues with transmission failures is heat.
If you didn't tow anything, then the only other way to ruin a transmission without it being a defect or lemon, is if you went off roading or did a lot of spinning of the tires.
Tips to prevent transmission problems for anyone else reading this.
Never spin tires excessively trying to get unstuck such as in mud or snow.
Get the transmission fluid flushed every 25,000 miles.
Pay attention to your coolant, make sure vehicle never overheats.
If you want to be diligent, get a transmission cooler added to your vehicle (if you have a towing package, then you likely already have one).
My guess is when they replaced the transmission they didn't diagnose and solve the issue of what caused the transmission to fail prematurely.
