Juniper Bank - Airtran Airline Affliate Charged late fee and added intererst RIPOFF Wilmington Delaware

Open this account with the story that I would get a free flight. After the account was opened I took advantage of the balance transfer fee with 0% interest for about one year. I made all payment on time, usually about twice the amount stated as the minimum payment. All payments were made at leadst two weeks prior to the due date.

In Oct of 2006 I made two paymets about two weeks apart. The next month I also made a payment. Then I get a notice that my account was charged a late fee of $39.00 and interest around 21% will be in effect for the remaining time of the balance.

I called and spoke to three different representatives. I did convince one of them to credit the late fee. All three said they could not reverse the interest charges. Seems like I made two payments in the same billing period and this is not allowed. The next month payment was also made prior to the due date.

I argued unsuccessfully that for the past 10 or 11 months since opening this account I had nevver missed a payment, most payments were received by them usually two weeks prior to the due date and the amounts were much more than the minimum. They claim it is in the small print of the contract. I asked on the last call to speak to a supervisor but was told she was not available and to call back the next day. Can not understand why I am being punished for being responsibile.
