In October, 2011, I called to cancel my credit card processing service because of horrible customer service and undisclosed service charges that kept adding up.  I was told by a Merchant Service USA employee that it is fine to cancel, all I need to do is fax in a reason for cancellation on my letterhead and that was it.  After 3 phone conversations with M.S.U.S.A. prior to cancellation,  they did not disclose in any of those conversations that I had a some sort of "contract" with them.  I never received a contract from them.  I never received any terms from them.  I was told I can cancel anytime.

The following week they stole $2,300. from my account stating I was in breech of contract.  I was shocked!  No notification, no authorization, they just took the money from my business account.  I called them and asked what was going on and then they told me I had a 3 year agreement with them and I still had 2 years left.  I talked to them on the phone 3 times the prior week and they encouraged me to cancel, never stating I was supposedly under contract.   Now I know why.  They must do this all the time.  When I called to ask for my money back, they were rude to me.  They told me if I sign up for an additional 3 years that they would return my money, but not for 90 days.  I about blew a gasket!!! Isn't that extortion?????  I would NEVER sign up again with such an unethical company like Merchant Services, USA.  When they initially solicited me, they were so sweet and made it so easy to enroll via fax & phone.  I was told I would pay $6.95 per month plus the percentages. I received 7 faxed pages stating that the terms were on the first and last page and there were no terms listed.  That is all I received from them.

I went to my bank immediately and they prevented the money from being transferred to Woodforest National Bank and I closed my account and opened a new one.  They have now turned this dispute over to Sky Recovery, which must be owned by Woodforest National Bank.  I have been getting calls everyday from them but will not respond.  The amount pulled from my bank is some random amount that M.S.USA made up.  I have sent Sky Recovery a letter with a check for the amount I owed Woodforest National Bank from October 1st- Oct. 11th.  They still call.  BEWARE!!!
