I too have been harrassed by these people. My persons name was d**k and he fit the name to a T. Not only did he threaten me but he called my employer and my co-workers for information on me. I was lucky I had a lawyer friend write them a very long letter informing them of all the laws they've broken in the state of CA. He was also informed that if he continues to call and threaten he would be sued for for all the laws that were broken. The calls finllay stopped but it was only after that letter was faxed to him. I had tried to stop the calls myself by saying I can't receive calls at work and I wrote a formal letter requesting it to stop but that just made it worse. There are laws and these bone heads need to remember that.

AUTHOR: Danny - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, July 12, 2006
Debt collectors, by law, are permitted to discuss what's called "LOCATION INFORMATION" with 3rd parties. Location info is considered Home Address, Place of Employment and Telephone Number.
Third parties may be contacted once unless the collector knows, or has reason to believe, the information provided was inaccurate. Collectors may not disclose information to a third party about the debt.
Requests from debtors to stop calling at work are accepted by law verbally. Requests that calls to the home stop are only permitted in writing.
**Nothing worse than a bill collector that know the law huh?
