You've probably heard of it, the great IPod give-away. You complete 6 offers from a series of sponsored plans and they send you a 40Gb IPod.

I completed all six offers. I actually completed 8 because they weren't recognizing 2 offers I had completed. Not all of these offers were free of course.

After the offers are completed, you go to a web-page from their system where a voucher is displayed. You are then supposed to PRINT this voucher and send it to them. Obviously, since they gave you the voucher, they already have it!

Whatever, I sent it in. A month later their web-site still said that I hadn't. So I sent it again, this time return receipt. The tracking number for my parcel is 03910272437000004013. The USPS website shows that this parcel was deliver on 01/31/2005. Note that it's now 03/11/2005.

Another 6 weeks go by and their customer service still won't respond to any of my support requests. Eventually I start saying things like, "I'm going to file a claim with the BBB". Those messages would be met with, "Thanks for your patience. We're looking into it."

More time goes by without anything. So I file a claim with the BBB in Florida. IncentiveRewardCenter immediately responds with an e-mail saying that, yes, I have in fact qualified and an IPod is on it's way.

That was 2 weeks ago. They've not responded to my multiple requests for a tracking number, and I've not received anything.

Not sure what to say. I've gotten nothing but the run-around from these guys. They sure look like a scam to me, but make your own choice.

Resolution, but not what I wanted, no hope for this awful and corrupt world.

Ok. They sent it. That's right.

Here's how it worked. They sent the BBB a letter saying it was sent. I requested a tracking number, but got no response. More than a month goes by and I've still not received the product.
Finally the BBB decides to contact them again. This time they send the FedEx tracking number to the BBB. It was delivered on 2/9, to my old address!!

The first voucher I sent in had my old address. Because they apparently "never received" this voucher I sent another one, with delivery confirmation, with my updated address. I also sent them multiple e-mails with my updated address and gave the BBB my updated address.

So it's gone. They guy who lives there now *says* he never got it. It was sent without insurance or signature requirement. FedEx says the company has to initiate a trace, the company says that once it's sent they're done so it won't initiate the trace, and the BBB will no longer respond to me.

I completed the offer, money out of my pocket, fought them for months, finally got it sent, and I still got screwed.

There is no hope for this awful and corrupt world.

Still no action, next step taken

AUTHOR: Ryan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 22, 2005

I've still received nothing from NIU TECH, LLC. They're back to their old trick of acting like they never received my e-mails.

The Florida BBB has taken no further action for me, and is probably so swamped it would take them another month. I've been waiting 3 months already, so I've taken the next step.

On 3/22/2005, at approximately 10:15am MDT, I submitted a claim to the Florida Attorney General's Office regarding "False and Deceptive Business Practices" by NIU TECH, LLC. Of course, I've also let NIU TECH, LLC know that this has happened.

We'll see where this goes. Even if I do get my IPod though, what can we do to make sure that others don't fall victim to this scam? The only reason I thought it was legit was because of their sponsors! AOL, Columbia, BlockBuster... those are all legitimate companies who wouldn't seem to want to be affiliated with something like NIU TECH, LLC. Or do they really care?
