My father was trying to do the right thing by installing Norton Antivirus on his computer. He is older and he wanted to speak with someone on the phone. While searching in Google for Norton Antivirus and phone numbers, he ran into www.pctech247.com. Unfortunately, when he called the 888 number, the person on the phone scared him to pieces about threats to his computer. This company asked for his credit card over the phone to help him with malicious threats to this computer. Once he did that, they remoted into his machine and started installing FREE software anyone can get online.

This company charged him $299.95 to install free software on his computer. They said they saw issues with Facebook on his machine. I can tell you he has NEVER used Facebook in his life. He told the company he wanted a refund for the service and he has been passed around from person to person. AND, when they called to ask him how the install was going (his computer had been OFF for an HOUR) so clearly they were not remoted in... he told his technician he wanted a refund and they said "I can't hear you, the line is breaking up."

Also, there is no e-mail receipt of the transaction or "service" for $299.95. It's very sad. This company is a malicious threat to older folks who don't know any better. My father said he may just have to pay this "stupid tax" but I told him that this is fraud, plain and simple.
