I enrolled my daughter in this place after taking out of barbering school becaused she really wanted to go to cosmetology school.

Her passion was to be a hairstyles and open up her own hair salon and day spa. She has worked in hair salons since she was 11 years old she is now 16 years with her high school diplopma and plans of attending college for business admission after she completes hair school.

I enroll with the thought that this was a good school. I felt that, because most of the students there where 21 to 50 years of age. That it would be a good and nurting environment for her, I also felt like it would be a place where she could grow and mature. I was really taken in by the fact they have finacial aid. The barbering school did not offer any financial aid so I would have to pay for it out of pocket with no assistance.

The admission person assured me that this was a great school and the perfect environment for her and she would be the greatest stylist and more confident and would be able to walk out and get a job anywhere in the world. She also told me there students and staff was the best in country. The school was ranked as one of the top 10 cosmetology schools in the country. All the instrustors had 30 years of experience as beautications and shop owners. I was also told all the instructor had degree's and were certifiied teachers by the State of Maryland and this was the only school in the state that had this type of staff. I was so empress by what she told me I enrolled her that day. I had a list of four other schools to visit but I did because I had made the best choice so I thought.

I then disenrolled her from barbering school and went to the school to pickup her information from them. The owner of the school called when she got in to find out why I had disenrolled her. I explained that she wanted to be a hair stylist and that she was not getting what she needed there and the school was to far. She bagged me not to take her out of there school and sugested that I place her in the school that was closer to our house. She told me she was doing well there and would hate to lose her as a student. If I ever change my mind they would love to have her back and I would not have to pay another enrollment fee.

Well as it turned out Baltimore Studio of Hair Design was a nightmare and major mistake, I could not belive that I set her up to fail and I paid my money for it.

I shorthly found out that the school was about getting money and nothing else and belive me they know how to do it.

There is 150 students enrolled in this school at all times 99% of the students are there on finacial aid. The tutions is about 11,000.00 the course is about 1 year.

My daughter received a full pell grant which is $4731.00 a year I paid $8693.00 out of my pocket. I have never recieved a statement from the school for my payments. I neved received the amount that was adward by the pell grant from the school.

The insturtors tell the students they are worthless beauticians and that they will never have anything.

My daughter life has been threathing at least 3 times when she was there.
I went to go pick her up and one of the students called her boyfriend to the school to fight her. This is not what I heard it's what I saw with my own eyes.
All the students are grown men and women and she was a child.

Students are allowed to go in the admission office and view or take things out of other students files. I know this for a fact because it happen to me.

I had purchased a stove and the curling irons in all sizes for her it cost me 1147.00 it was stolen in school. I also had purchase 2 mankin head for her and the school supplied her another one in her kit that you purchase from the when you start all three of the mankin head were stolen all the rollers and three the 300.00 scissor she got in her barbering kit. I also purchased for her chi blow dryer and flat irons only for them to be stolen. I had to place everything she had 3 times or more. The school said there was nothing they could do, I really wish I was lying about this it really sad.

The Admission officer lost the copy of her Social Sercurity Card and her ID and also the copies of my information. That information was need in her file for the pell grant but someone stole it out of her file. Then the admission lyed and said she never received it from me. The law is she could not file for federal funds untill she received that information and had it on file. They my gave my daughters hours to another student and then they said the computer sifted them by mistake they also lost all her test scores. The Admission person sits in her office with students spreading rumors about other students and I witness this for myself. None of the teacher are certified teachers and you donot need 30 years of expericence to work there and no all of the instructors are not shop owners or have degrees that was another lye. This is not one of the nations top schools.

Like I said before it cost 11,000.00 per student they always have 150 students enrolled at all times even if the student is not there.

The toliets are broke, the shampoo bowls have buckets under them because they leak, there is mice running around the clinic floor, the shampoo has roaches in it, there is no manicure table and the table they use is dirty and is use to hold oil sheen and other products, the stylist chair are broken and you have to buy your own supplies, the water pressure is bad and the water runs cold, the shampoo are broke and the hair dryers the place is flithy.

When I went to withdraw my daughter from there I was told I had to wait 30 days for her transcprit and her hour and not to put it writing that I was withdrawning her.

I went to enroll her in another school and found out that baltimore studio's of hair design where not going to disenroll her from there. That in fact they were going to keep her enroll for 30 more days so they could get the last grant check. After they received the last grant check then they would disenroll for her attendace so they could keep the check . If you are withdrawn by your request they have to refund the money to the goverment. I never completed the forms for the pell grant the admission office did. I have never had this happen with a school before. Where they donot have any records no grades and no transcprit. They also tell people if you finish the program early you need to pay them more money for early completion or apply for a pell grant to pay the balance, but your not in school any longer.

This school is a scam that is stealing federal funds and a health hazrad to the public and the students. It unprofessional, unorganized and unsanitary. If you dont know how to do hair before you get you will not know when you finish they. If you donot know about sanition before you get there you will not know when you leave.

They will never change because they can get away with it. All the students are mostly poor black people and the cleints are eldrly and poor. The school is also owned by a member of the Maryland State Board of Cosmetology. She also owners two other schools that are not like that one is. Most people who go there cannot go anywhere else because they donot have the resources to go anywhere else. Must of the students hate the school the staff at the school and the conditions of the school.

This is a disgrace to the educational system and the State of Maryland.
If they were owner by a black women they would have been arrested for fraud and closed by now. I cannot belive that this is going on today in america openly.

Whats the difference in what she is doing then a drug dealer this is still abuse and fraud I am so mad and I have not listed all the things going on there.

They should change the name of the school to the Baltimore Circus Show because thats what it is a Circus and thats how I felt after dealing with them. Not in a good way it's like a clown show from the moment you walk in and the Admission person is the great pretender.

It's funny how they say this is the best school in the City of Baltimore if that is true than the City of BALTIMORE has some very low starndards.
