The Poppy Pod Depot is a floral scam company. I am an art teacher, and do floral arrangements. I placed an order for 400 poppies, costing $135.00.

The Poppypod.com website has their poppies listed at whole sale prices on thier home page. I placed my order, and paid in full. They shorted my order by 250 poppies.

I wrote them a nice email explaing I did not receive my full order, and their reply was, "Its Better Than Nothing." I was in shock.

They wrote me several more nasty emails. I wanted to warn florists that they are a dishonest, false advertising company. Dont let them take your money too.

Gary Hoffman - Nancy Dirafaele - Poppy Pod Depot - Crooks

AUTHOR: anonymous - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 07, 2010

I was once a fairly satisfied customer of this company having ordered many dried poppy flowers from them. A few times they sent some rotten ones, or a couple slightly smaller but for the most part the orders were OK.

The last order I placed was for a very large sized pod that I have ordered many times before so I know exactly what they should look like. The flowers they sent were less than half the size of those I should have received.

I have now sent 5 emails over the course of 5 days and they have all gone unanswered. I know this company is receiving emails because after sending one email about my problem I immediately sent another from a different email address asking them a generic question about their product and it was answered within minutes.

It seems that they are a company who will take your money for one product, send an inferior product and then ignore you. This makes them common crooks and thieves.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. They may send you what you ordered, or it appears they may not and then refuse to communicate to satisfy the problem and leave you screwed out of your money.

In doing research on the company the LLC is still listed in Florida at
3146 Old Farm House Dr
North Fort Myers, FL 33917
but they are now shipping from
GARY HOFFMAN
4515 CONASHAUGH LK
MILFORD PA 18337-9398

I have had problems also.

I have heard alot of people having problems with www.poppypoddepot.com, I use to send Nancy and Gary (poppy pod depot) M.O. to FL until Aug. when they went to another location. I was getting Pods from them for about 4 years, I got shorted on more orders than I can remember also they never send the right size of pods I ordered, for example I ordered 500 x-large pods got 450 small pods.

The only reason I ordered from them so long is cause I didn't want to search for another place to order them from, and they use to be cheap. Now there prices have sky rocketed, I am not aware of the reason they have raised the prices. When I e-mailed them asking why I got shorted and the sizes, they just say thats all they had and put more than they should of so I gave up on asking them to send what they owed me. I am fed up with them and are searching for a new supplier now.

If you are wondering if you should order from poppy pod depot, I STRONGLY suggest you not to.

Great Company/Repeat Customer

I have ordered from this company for a couple of years and have never had one single issue with them.  They deliver everything they promise on their website and they ship when they say they're going to ship.  Beautiful dried florals. A little pricey these days, but very good people to deal with.

More frustration

AUTHOR: RTB - (United States of America)

I also have had bad experience with this company. Their amazingly poor customer service has already been detailed above, so I'll mention the issue of pricing. They recently raised prices, by almost 300% for the particular item I had purchased before. In addition, they offered "presale" pricing a month ago, but when the product did not come in, instead of honoring those purchases and prices, they just refunded the money and said customers could purchase at the current price.

I'm not arguing their right to charge whatever they want - it just seems that they are price gouging. I have looked at other vendors, and they have not tripled prices when their stock run low. So I suppose I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Former customer.

I ordered from this company twice. On their website they advertise their product by measurment in inches. I received an order that was smaller than they had advertised, so when I emailed them to ask how they measure the product, they told me, in email, that they don't measure their pods because each shipment of pods is different and that any measurment would be pointless.

More Fraud by The Poppy Pod Depot (.com)

AUTHOR: erikvs1 - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, September 24, 2009

I also ordered 400 pieces and was sent only 200.
They have refused to credit my card for the difference and now do not even reply to my emails.
I paid $200 through Authorize.net - the service that allows them to accept credit card payment online - after noting the fact that my prior order had gone through PayPal.
My prior order was for a much smaller quantity, but it was also short - unfortunately, I let that slide at the time after informing them by email.
NOTE THIS WELL:
The Poppy Pod Depot.com is now using yet another service to accept credit cards.
They have switched to using A Secure Cart.net - probably because they were terminated by Authorize.net for their fraudulent business practices and the complaints they were generating.
And they will continue ripping people off by simply changing the companies through which they obtain authorization to charge your credit cards whenever "the heat is on".
The Poppy Pod Depot is a RIPOFF - an unrepentant scam.
I would urge everyone to expose them by writing to the Florida Attorney General's Office,
the Florida Better Business Bureau at this link:

and any other place they can think of !

I absolutely disagree that the poppy pod depot is a" floral scam company "

AUTHOR: BFA - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, September 13, 2009

That statement really upset and "shocked" me in order for me to take the time in my super busy life to defend them. I have been ordering from the poppy pod depot for over a year. It is hard to believe that a company that falsely advertised and scammed their customers would be around as long as they have. A colleague of mine first introduced me to them after this other company charged my cc 8 times for the exact same order I had placed once. It was so obvious that the order was a computer error since it was an exact multiple duplicate which was placed within a few minutes of each other 8 times in about 20 minutes. Anyway, I just finished placing a similar priced order with not a shred of after reading your report. I think the fact that your report which made them sound like outright dishonest thieves lost quite a bit of credibility to me. When I placed my first order with them through Ebay I checked out the stores ratings which were 99% positive and it remained the same ratings throughout the year. Were you aware that there are plenty of poppy pod threads and blogs. That company would have been out of business in a heart beat if they treated their customers so unprofessionally as you claim you were treated and falsely advertised in the slightest.. These are facts and I never read anything negative about them. These Poppy Pod enthusiests can be very critical. I just received an order with them a few weeks ago and it was perfect. I do not count the pods anymore, I do not feel it is nesessary. They were as beautiful and fresh as always. Occasionally I emailed them with shipping questions and they answered them in a prompt and professional manner, once I placed an order on a holiday and it took a few extra days and they said they were closed that day and so was the P.O. but if I was unhappy with the shipping they would refund my money. I also find it very hard to believe that they (out of the blue???) "wrote you several more nasty emails". My experience with them has always been a positive one. There are some companies out there that I have dealt with that have shipped me poppies that smelled and have been so black or old that they crumbled in my hand that I maybe salvaged a quarter of the order. I honestly feel their is something more going on with your "rip off" statement..

Is there anyone else out there that can back you up?
