we joined because we just bought a house next to the clermont thousand trails. We thought it would be convenient to park our rv in a secure atmosphere. The 1st year it was ok. The 2nd year we attempted to make a reservation  90 days in advance and were told that the weekends were booked so we would have to find somewhere else to park our rig due to the overbooking of free stays from lazy days promotions. They apparently give away free membership whith the purchase of rv's.

We used the facility 3 weeks the first year. They charged us for there magazine and extra utiliies which we didnt want and or never used. We informed there main office which i beleive is in texas and everyone was rude.

There orlando sales staff told us that  if we didnt use the campgrounds due to whatever, we could hold off paying the dues and then resume when the need was there.

I mailed a letter to the CEO Mr. Adams informing him about the injustices and deception by thier staff and he never responded. I sent the letter certified.

I figure we got screwed out of the initiation fee of about $6000. We havent paid any dues for 3 years and now they are turning it over to a collection agency I beleive.

We have never dealt with such a vendor of services such as these people. We told them after the 1st year that if we cant access the orlando facility for the 2 full weeks, then there company just was not performing the service we were promised by there staff. We bought in for the convenience of location near our house.

If we would ever go full time camping, we would never even consider using thousand trails due to there manner in which they conduct themselves.

They hand out free memberships especially in Orlando due to the high volume of camper sales and snow birds, leaving limited access.

The 3 day free stay and high pressure sales, verbal promises and assurance mean nothing to the corporate office. They are liars and cheats and you need to beware before paying them any monies especially in Florida.

This is not a defense for these @sses:

I agree with the fact that the management is just plain dumb. That was the worst manager I have ever seen. The manager RD was a complete idiot and even the members knew it. Not only was he an idiot he was just plain rude to everybody and his employees and ELS obviously does not care about what this man does at all. I cannot tell you the location of where i had to work but i can tell you this. Its one of the locations before Birch Bay along the I5 corridor.

Even the members do not know who to talk to about this man. No one higher up will listen or give a sh*t. On a stay there I seen this man cuss out his employees because he made the mistake. Whatever it is NEVER take a job there because it is not worth the pay. This is a job where someone will feel and be insulted for a less than meager wage.

Oh by the way Grandy creek is really a KOA site. It always has been. They decided to take these guys on for a little extra money. Honestly your a chump if you decide to camp there since there is a county park with a lake a few miles up the road that only charges $5 a night! Drive even further and see Baker Lake!

Thousand Trails? More like Thousand Trials...

The only thing worse than getting ripped-off by this company is WORKING for them.

I spent a whole summer here in Colorado working for this POS company and have regretted it ever since.

This company, nation-wide, is run by nothing but retired military a*holes who didn't plan for their own retirement very well. They are nothing but a bunch of money grubbing sh*ts who could care less what happens to you after you hand over your check or credit card. They are abusive to their customers as well as their employees.

To hell with Thousand Trails. If you just want to get away, pitch a tent in the forrest somewhere and keep your fire low enough so you don't get caught.

Thousand Trails IS A JOKE! They would suck the sh*t out of your own a$s if there was a way to make money off it.
