Contracted with USABG in late April. I was promised by the hiring manager that if I were to decide to leave that I would be released and free to go on my own. I spoke with the person in charge this afternoon, Don Duryea, and have been told that although they will continue to pay the commission I earned, they will not release me from the agreement. This prevents me from being able to write any business through my main health carrier for three months. After three months I can contract with carrier for a new appointment. This essentially hold me hostage to USABG because losing my main carrier would put me under. I was also promised a commission level higher than what I have received. To USABG's credit they did correct that situation, but will not honor the the release. I do have it in writing from the hiring manager via an email that I would be able to leave with my book of business. Avoid contracting or doing business with USABG or any of it's agents. They do not honor what they promise IN WRITING!

These companies should be clear about holding you hostage with contracting. Do not get caught up as a hostage with USABG

USA BENEFITS GROUP ,USABG, -- A CUSTOMER FOCUSED ORGANIZATION THAT EMPHASIZES INTEGRITY

AUTHOR: Chuck Coleman - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, June 10, 2014

This report was written over 4 and ½  years ago and although I don’t know the specific nature of the situation as an agent who has been employed by USABG its important to respond to his statement “avoid contacting or doing business with USABG or any of its agents. They do not honor what they promise in writing.”

To make a blanketed statement such as this is entirely inaccurate. I have worked for USABG as a senior level broker for several years.  During that span I have written hundreds of policies and earned a great living. I know the company emphasizes above all customer service and identifying our customer’s needs. I have to be compliant to company policies as well as government rules and regulations. If I don’t honor contacts between myself and my clients or the company I could not only lose my job, get fined or go to jail!! Furthermore USABG would face sanctions and restrictions for not honoring contracts.

From reading your statement Jim, I see that Mr. Duryea indicated to you that the organization would continue to pay your commissions as well as increase your commission levels this is fair and honorable.  You acknowledge this fact as well.

The organization invested a significant amount when you were hired with training costs and everything else to get you up to speed.  In addition they are paying you the highest rate of commission and you are no longer part of the organization. If you wanted to be released from your work agreement with USABG then this was not a problem, the company will grant you a release as long as you do the proper paperwork. If this were done your release would have been granted. Clearly you hindered the process by not following the proper protocol that management and as well as human resources informed you to do.

So to put USABG on the Rip –off report when they company met your requests and told you what you needed to do in order to leave the organization is not fair,  inaccurate and petty.
