Yahoo tried to charge $99 to recover hacked email account Internet, Alabama
*Consumer Comment: It's not yahoo.
*Consumer Comment: Not a rip-off
Yahoo is a ripoff. If your email account is ever hacked into, get ready for Yahoo to try to charge you $99 to recover the account. The only people you can talk to are in a foreign country and the one you talk to trys to tell you your computer is messed up and it will cost $99 to fix it. I build and repair computers and I know mine was not messed up.
Beware of Yahoo!!!

This is not Yahoo. Yahoo (contrary to what Mr / Ms Coast says) never asks for money for support with a Yahoo Mail account. I believe you accidently connected to a 3rd party support site that wants you to believe it's Yahoo. This a very common scam.
From Yahoo:
Does Yahoo! charge money for customer support?
Yahoo! will never charge you for assistance with your Yahoo! Mail account, ask you for your password, or ask for remote access to your computer. Whether you choose to search our help pages or email us with a question, there is no cost. If someone claiming to be Yahoo! Customer Care or Support asks you for this information, it is likely that you are not dealing with Yahoo!.
When seeking help for a Yahoo! service, please be sure to use our official help website. You can tell you are reading one of our help pages if the web address has the domain help.yahoo.com."
If you need assistance with your Yahoo! Mail account, please contact us using our online form. Note that you can also search our Yahoo! Mail help pages, which contain answers to our customers' most common questions.

Yahoo email is free. The support is not.
Create a better password. Don't use the same password for other accounts. Guard your password. Wipe those tears.
