Georgia MARTA Someone should file a class action Marta Cheats Customers who buys monthly employer Breezecards Atlanta Georgia

I started buying MARTA monthly Breezecards at the MARTA ticket stand in September, 2007 when I started a new job. A few months later, my employer sent an email offering to purchase my MARTA Breezecard which provided a small discount.

Their website (www.breezecard.com/htm/employer_partner.html) states:

"Reliability: New fare gates, bus fare boxes, breeze Vending Machines and durable plastic Breeze Cards

Security: Balance Protection - if your card is lost or stolen, it can be replaced by your program administrator with the balance intact."

I lost my monthly Breezecard on March 16, 2008, contacted MARTA and was told that there was nothing they could do about a lost card and that I would just have to purchase a new one.

If you buy a monthly Breezecard at the ticket stand and register it with MARTA then if lost, the card can be replaced and no loss incurred. MARTA would not allow me to register the employer card saying that it is not necessary to register an employer Breezecard. The monthly Breezecard at the ticket stand is plastic, the monthly pass they sell you through an employer is paper. If you call to replace it they tell you that the "paper" pass is not really a Breezecard though it DISTINCTLY says BREEZECARD on the card.

MARTA cheats people who purchase Breezecards through employers and inevitably makes a LOT OF MONEY off people who lose them even though MARTA'S own website says they will replace them if lost.
