  • 1st National Card Services 7431 - 114th Avenue, Suite 104 Largo, Florida U.S.A.

1st National Card Services They offered me this great sounding card with $4500.00 credit limit. They charged my bank account $200.00. They sent me a toy card when I thought I was to receive a major credit card. I called and demanded my money back. They said no, you must order from our catalog. I ordered 2 chairs and never received them. When I called to check on the order status, their phone was out of service. Largo Florida

*Consumer Suggestion: They offered me a card with a $6500 limit.

I received a call last fall from a company that said I have been pre-approved for an unsecured platinum credit card with a $4500.00 credit limit and a $2000.00 additional cash advance and a 8.9% fixed rate. They said this card was designed to help Americans improve their credit. The man said I would need to authorize a bank to bank draft of $200.00. He said that when I receive the card in the mail, I will also receive $250.00 worth of vouchers good towards payments on my new 1st National Card Service account. I went ahead and authorized the $200.00 draft.

When I received the card in the mail a few weeks later, it looked like a toy credit card. I thought I was to receive a major credit card like a Visa or Mastercard. The payment vouchers looked like play money. They sent 5-$50.00 vouchers. I immediately called the company and told them that I had been mislead and I want my money back. They said no. They said the card is only good for their product catalog. I was not originally told anything about a product catalog or I would not have agreed to the offer. I went to the website and did not see anything I was interested in.

I let a little time go by and went back to the internet catalog. I placed an order and never received the shipment. I attempted to call the company to find out the order status, only to find out that their phone was disconnected and out of service. What a horrible scam. My family has been struggling financially due to my husband's job loss. I thought that having this card would help us out. Instead, losing that $200.00 really hurt us.

They offered me a card with a $6500 limit.

Maybe they love me more?

If anybody else receives this letter, they will see that First National tries to make this card sound better than a major credit card. (By the way, they refer to major credit cards as "general credit cards".

The line that gives it away is in the paragraph marked "You're Already Approved". They say that this isn't a general credit card and that it's exclusively authorized for catalog purchases. I imagine that the prices in the catalog are marked up significantly.

If anyone really wants to spend $200 to $400 and repair their credit card, get a secured credit card and make timely payments.
