AARP Roadside Assistance from Allstate A flat tire at 10:00 a.m. this morning resulted in 45 minutes of phone calls and a response of "We can't find anyone in that area to change your flat, but we will keep trying and get back to you". At 2:30 this afternoon (in a pounding rain strorm) we managed to find help. We received NO RETURN PHONE CALL, with help, as promised Roadside Assistance. So .. Seniors beware - the AARP means nothing and I wonder why they allow Allstate to use their name. Kickback, maybe? After this unfortunate experience I am going to get some quotes on my auto and home insurance which I have had for many years with AARP Hartford. Don't trust AARP. South Barrington, Internet

WHO wants to change a tire in a pounding rain storm. Especially a senior citizen who is SUPPOSED to have COVERAGE for this anyway!
They would be giving you a call back if you were late on your premiums eh?

This doesn't address why AARP couldn't find a tire changer near you (was there one near you?) but I was just wondering if your jack was broken our your spare flat?
Having a flat tire shouldn't strand you unless there is something wrong with you (disabled?) or the spare.
