We had ADT installed in my apartment home Aug 26 2010 and signed a 3 year contract. In April 2011 we moved to a town home rental and had ADT equipment and monitoring service transferred to our new address and had service with them until Feb 30, 2013.
We just purchased a home in Jan 2013 and cancelled adt service Feb 2013. however, adt has continued to charge me monthly monitoring. when i called them to address this issue, i was informed that by transferring the service in the move in April 2011 i renewed my contract and the start date became April 2011 and not august 2010 and that i owe them a $385 termination fee. no where in the contract that i signed the on Aug 2010 or April 2011 for the transfer of service does it state this.
fortunately i kept all of the documentation. ADT is a CROOOOOOK! and will do anything to get your money.

Feb 30th is a nonexistent date.
