I am cancelling my account with ADT Security Services. My one (1) month subscription to ADT Security service is being cancelled because of unprofessional service provided to me, my insurance representatives, and misrepresentation of product and services. I have been told that by cancelling my account, I will be billed $900 for a contractual agreement. I had no idea that I signed a contract for 3 years of ADT Security Services.

I have no paperwork stating that, nor has any been provided to me, other than a phone call from a nationwide customer service representative, telling me that a certificate of installation will be sent to me and that I had to sign it in order for my insurance company to confirm that I had indeed installed a security device and service in my home to get a discount on my new home. The system was in my home when I bought it. I had no idea how to operate it, nor did I have any way of activating it other than calling the ADT and having them inform me what needed to be done to create an account.

I was contacted by ADT Security services over the phone and told that I needed to do two things to get the system operative. First, get a land line because the system needed it. Second, after a phone call from a technical representative, I was going to be sent an affidavit of installation, and to sign it immediately and send the whole thing back to ADT security services for process, in which it was to be sent to my insurance company for verification.

I was not told it was a contractual agreement, I was not told that I had to have ADT Services for 3 years, I was not told that the system was indeed a wireless system, I was not told that the system was inferior to a wired system, I did not get a personal representative to my home to explain the process of agreement of security services that was to be provided to me even after asking the customer representative to send one to explain the how to's , and why's of the system that was in my home. I was never mailed back a copy of the affidavit that was sent to me. A copy of the affidavit was never sent to my insurance company.

After 3 weeks, my insurance company billed me the $300 for not sending in that certificate. I never received any other contact from ADT services. I called a technical representative up for help in getting the certificate sent to my insurance agent, and was told that they only needed the fax number and that they would send it immediately as they were on the phone with me. They lied. A copy of the affidavit was never faxed. My insurance company then called me back 1 weeks later to find out why and told them I thought it was indeed faxed as I was on the phone with them. The insurance company then called ADT Services to ask them to please fax the affidavit to them that day so that they could adjust my insurance premium and the customer representative merely laughed sarcastically at the insurance agent and told them that it would be a minimum of two weeks before anything would be faxed to them, after which the insurance agent asked why and the ADT customer representative mocked the insurance agent back in an unprofessional way.

They have not received any other contact or information from ADT Security Services. I have received on average 6 phone solicitations from ADT Security services at least 1 a day since (activating) my system, to install an ADT Security system in my home, and told them that I already have one, at one point, after the 5 or 6th call I asked the representative if they were serious, and I was told it by the ADT Security Service customer service representative that Yes, it was a joke Mr. Normand. And the representative hung up on me.

After calling the ADT services back and asking why my system was chirping and making all kinds of noises, I was told to replace the batteries and that is when I found out that I had a wireless service and not a wired service. The phone called was mysteriously dropped. I stopped using the system and turned it off since I didn't have any instruction booklet nor was one provided me, on the unit.

I tried to get online for creating an account with ADT Security Service but when I would put my Customer Account Number in, I was told it was not valid. When I called the main number for ADT Services, and told to put my Customer Account Number in, I was told that it was invalid.

I have nothing but MIS-SERVICE from ADT Security Service and want my account cancelled immediately for misrepresentation of product and services.

ADT Security Services, Mobile, Alabama continues to ignore phone messages

Since speaking to a customer service representative about canceling my account, and being referred to Mandy Phillips, the local supervisory agent in Mobile, Alabama, she has since not returned any phone calls left on her message machine. I will continue to call today, but will ask for another agent in the next few days before calling the someone in a national call center again for verification of my account being canceled.
