This is one company to beware of !

My local Karate/Kickboxing facility Ive been on -off member with for over 8 years. In 2008 I signed contract to have a monthy fee withdrawn from my credit card for ongoing cardio kickboxing classes. Knowing the stipulations to cancel this account was a written notice as well as a verbal request to close this automatic payments. I followed proper protocal ., written followed by a phone call on Oct. 4, 2009. Fine ok i assumed this was no longer an issue.

I would have discovered this sooner had i checked my credit card statements ( my fault ) I realise now. On Oct 5, 2010 while paying my bill i noticed this charge of 59.00 to which i immediately placed a call to Affiliated Acceptance. The first person i spoke with needed to brush up on his communication skills. It was instant attitude so I requested his superior. Spoke with a woman which told me yes they indeed had record of my phone call ; however, My account was never closed because i didnt follow proper protocal ?!?! Huh ?? I had indeed did what i was suppose to do .

My next call was to the credit card company, explained the issue and requested to stop payments to Affiliated Acceptance. AAC had charged my card for one full year after this account was to be closed. Which basically equates to $800.00 w/ interest.

My credit card company has reversed four months of charges with possibly looking into hepling me with more. So now I receive a bill from AAC stating I owe them 4 months charges, $ 40.00 late fee,   plus $100.00 in returned fees all totalling $ 435.00 . This a total scam !!  I received a call from AAC on October 11, 2010 stating this account will not be closed. Other then filing report with BBB and contacting the State Attorney Generals Office I have no idea how to deal with these people? Their business practices are deplorable and there needs to be laws against companies doing this.

Ive sent a registered letter to the Kickboxing facility asking for their help in the matter but my husband tells me they will likely not do anything. If anyone has any ideas on what i could do next ,please respond . I refuse to let this company get one more penny of my hard earned money.

Wish Me Luck , Shelly
