Started receiving phone calls from Alyon Technologies and/or First America Credit (changes each time they call) about a bill for accessing adult websites in November of 2002. (Sound familiar?) They claimed my minor child had accessed them.
They have continued to call my house everyday, sometimes 2 or 3 times a day. The times I have spoken to them I have requested documentation of this bill but have yet to receive it. I believe the Fair Debt Collections Act specifies a company has 5 days to do this at the request of the consumer - please correct me if I am wrong.
They continue to call, most times hanging up on me if I answer or not leaving a message on the answering machine if I am not home. We have caller ID so I have documented all times and dates. There are now TWO different numbers they are calling from: 866-803-5456 and 800-660-1935.
I will not be bullied, harrassed or threatened into paying this bill. I have filed a complaint with the FTC. I am in the process of filing a complaint with our State's Attorney General's office, and have sent Alyon a "cease communication" letter via certified mail with return request.
This letter was suggested by the FTC when I filed the complaint. I am boning up on my rights and suggest anyone who is being contacted by this company (or companies) to do the same. FIGHT BACK!!!

New Jersey company settles complaint over online porn billing
(Hartford-AP, Mar. 1, 2005 1:32 PM) _ Connecticut has reach a settlement with a New Jersey company that allegedly scammed Internet users, fraudulently billing them for online services they didn't order.
Attorney General Richard Blumenthal says Alyon Technologies has agreed to pay $11,000 restitution to about 50 Connecticut consumers.
Alyon charged consumers $4.99 a minute for dial-up Internet connections to adult Web sites.
Blumenthal says some people who didn't even own computers were tricked into signing up for services.
