After a few weeks we received a bill in the mail for $299. We wrote them a letter stating we did not authorize the listing in their directory and therefore we did not owe the $299. They continued to send us bills every two weeks. In the meantime we investigated them on the internet and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Seems like this was common practice for Ameri-Source and many others had fallen for their scheme. Soon they were harrassing us with phone calls until we told them we refused to pay and never to call again.
Now we are receiving phone calls from a collection agency. We soon will be checking with the credit bureau to write a rebuttal when it shows up on our credit report. Thanks for the idea of calling the Attorney General's office and our local police to report fraud. That's our next step!
